MOTOGP » Austin MotoGP: Rossi defensive sixth, 'lost part of a disc'

Wasn't expecting him to do that great here. He just didn't click with the circuit at all and it was obvious the other guys from the test could get round it better. I'd say he's most annoyed about Cal though. He could have dealt with being second yamaha to Jorge here, but Cal was brilliant. If he hadn't have run wide, he would have been challenging for the podium, as Jorge was pushing!

MOTOGP » Marc Marquez studies Pedrosa, Rossi

Everything that I like about Rossi, I see in Marquez in buckets. And this kid is hopefully just going to get better and better. To be in a duel at the end and not bin it and take the podium proved he is a lot more mature than people gave him credit for. An absolute serious contender for this championship and hopefully a few more. Hope he has a safe and competitive remainder to the season. Legend in the making!

MOTOGP » Rossi: Welkom '04 more special, Marquez 'better than me!'

@ me - Thats true. But that's not what you stated. The Ducati is one big fat red herring in the whole argument though, which leaves nothing but hypothetical situations. I just wish neither Casey or Valentino ever had to ride it. It hindered both their potentials, I would have loved to see Casey on a honda and Rossi on a Yamaha this year. But....he quit. Rossi therefore will always have more championships than him.... that is the main undeniable fact! Not Casey bashing at all, he was frickin amazing, but thats the bigger picture reality of it all

@ me - if if if. You cannot state hypothetical situations as fact. IF Casey hadn't quit, you'd maybe have your answer, but he quit. Rossi also beat Pedrosa at the weekend, or did you conveniently forget that? The big question now is can he beat Lorenzo this season in a race? I think he will, although I still think its clear that Lorenzo is the actual favorite for the championship.

MOTOGP » Qatar MotoGP: Rossi dazzles on Yamaha return

Rossi coming into the Yamaha garage and being competitive when Lorenzo is number one is reminiscent of Lorenzo coming into the Yamaha garage and being competitive whenever Rossi was number one. Its almost like a role reversal This obviously upset Vale at the time and led to the increased pressure which made Vale throw his toys out of the pram and make the worst decision of his career, including a stoopid mistake which broke his leg! It'll be interesting to see if Lorenzo can deal with this same type of pressure. If he can keep a cool head though, fair play to him!!

MOTOGP » Qatar MotoGP: Rossi's race pace faster and faster

Its hard to tell if Lorenzo would have been faster if he was put under more pressure. One things for sure though, he will be put under pressure in other races, and I cant wait to watch. If he keeps qualifying well, he'll be fine though. Qualifying is so important this year when you consider how it affected Rossi and Marquez particularly, and in light of Cal's comments about getting stuck behind a Honda in a race
