MOTOGP » Rossi targets podium on Yamaha MotoGP return

Once we get through Qatar and Austin, we get into some Rossi friendly tracks. Spain, France Italy and arguably Catalunya (lets hope for another 2009 Catalunya!!!!). He's always looked competitive on these tracks. Like someone said before, if he even gets a taste of champagne in Qatar or Austin, he'll have to be ONE of the favorites to win on each of these European tracks

MOTOGP » Rossi targets podium on Yamaha MotoGP return

@ 99 Crystal Ball. - Unregistered I know what you're saying...... but....... Because he's slower than JL DP MM in testing Because he's had a terrible 2 years in Ducati and lost confidence Because people have questioned his worthiness to inherit the championship winning bike Because he's 34 Because Cal and Stefan will be in the mix too Because Qatar isn't one of his favourite circuits Because a podium is always an amazing result, no matter who you are Because its his first race on this bike Because people wrote him off They're just a couple of reasons why a podium will be an amazing result!! There's plenty of people in contention for this podium, and it'll be like this all season. I cant fecking wait til it starts!!

MOTOGP » Rossi 'happy, competitive' and ready for Qatar

Its such an interesting dynamic this year from a Yamaha perspective. Jorge is the most consistent, the number 1 rider and the favorite for the championship. Valentino however has a point to prove. I don't think he can match JL for race pace, but he'll rattle his cage and try and put him off. (i.e. Laguna 08 with Casey). Vale wasn't necessarily the fastest out there all the time, but he could always stay in touch using the Yamaha and could put people off. That's why loads of people love him, and why loads of people hate him. Question is whether or not he can stay in touch at all. There's not much you can do when you're 5 seconds down the road and JL and DP are miles ahead and some petulant teenager and a cocky manc are trying to start a fight with you. The arrogance of them two. Jeeez!!

MOTOGP » 'So happy' - Valentino Rossi returns to the top at Jerez

Great news for rossi fans, and the championship. There's been 4 riders topping the time sheets so far (is that right???) and Cal and Stefan have been there or there abouts too. This is still only testing, but this is the area where Rossi really needed to improve, single fast laps. He's a proven racer, so this is encouraging. Would like to see another race simulation if possible?? Its only one test and the Hondas look like they had a bad day. Maybe the Hondas are sandbagging? Lets see how it goes today
