MotoGP » VIDEO: MotoGP's next big young thing?

The only reason Spain produces so much talent is because it has been allowed to and continue to, milk the rest of the EU for billions in funding for it's (cough cough) youth employment initiatives (sports programmes) that bring the likes of MM and this youngster through their EU funded (quote: high quality) domestic series. Way better than adding youth to the unemployment que though eh? Can you see it catching on in good old Blighty? naa thought not, but lets just keep shovelling the ££££ their way anyway. We wont even go into all the debt their football teams owe in taxes, which would bankrupt most of them overnight if they had to pay what they should have done. FARCE!

F1 » Alonso the target if Hamilton leaves Mercedes F1

Just to add a couple of points of note. GDI is nothing more than an acronym for gasolene direct injection, Mercedes version of direct injection, and not really any different than any other form of common rail direct injection, which all F1 engines have to utilise from 2014 onwards. Turbosupercharger, an old word that's not used any longer, could we just stick with turbocharger and supercharger which gives a clear distinction between the two.

F1 » F1’s Virtual Safety Car approved for 2015

"It is obvious that slowing down means slower RPM'S." No you're wrong there, actually you could be in a lower gear using MORE RPM but actually moving at a lesser speed. Whatever they come up with it will in effect be an reduction in SPEED through a waved yellow area, whether it be an speed limit displayed on the drivers wheel, or controlled by means of a time delta, it will ultimately be a reduction in speed, with penalties for breaching it. Yellow flags have long been abused/paid lip service by drivers/riders in motor racing.

F1 » Verstappen: Mercedes F1 focus wrong for juniors

ProffX totally agree with you and pretty much what I intimated. The fact is there was no F1 seat at Merc, if MV had signed up for Mercs young driver programme it would most likely have been a test/reserve driver position but going head to head with Pascal Wehrlein already established as their future young star and current reserve driver. It's nothing to do with programmes or focus, and everything to do with getting his bottom into a seat and onto the grid as quickly as he can, which he has done. Some people just can't see the wood for the trees

F1 » McLaren-Honda F1 car to run on Friday

HRC: I'll be mighty surprised if the Honda PU is not capable of matching or even beating the Merc PU even at this early stage, one thing Honda are historically good at is making racing PU's with a surplus of HP and reliable ones too.
Not always. The V8 engine was rubbish, it's power delivery was described as been an on-off switch by Jenson & Rubens.
The V8 wasn't rubbish, the chassis it was sat it most certainly was, Super Aguri prooving the point. Yes it had it's problems and was not helped by the 2 yr engine freeze and Honda stubbornly using its own electronics hence Buttons comments about power delivery. As I recall he Honda V8 was lower revving being a longer stroke motor but gave as much HP as the other V8s on the grid.
