F1 » Vettel keeps his cool as Hamilton burns out

CryingWind: I guess now it is clear to see that Vettel is only talented when the car has been upgraded and dominant. Other than that he is pretty ordinary. He won because of the car, the same thing i have heard about hamilton all season.
Sshhh. You can't say that out loud, they won't listen to the obvious truth. Totally agree with what you wrote though. Great controlled race from Sebastian and well held by Daniel. Think Nico Hulks penalty was a bit harsh. it's Good to Talk.

F1 » Rosberg on Vettel lap: What the hell?!

Taipan: Agreed Sunny, unnecessary, very risky, you could say foolish but absolutely fantastic to see. Anyone who has gibbered about Senna-esque recently after watching someone cruise to pole in a massively dominant car should have another look at that lap, that was balls-out on the limit driving.
Taipan. What we just witnessed is someone cruise to pole in a massively dominant car. Difference is Sebastian was the pilot, "so that's o.k.". Umm. Let's face it, anyone but Lewis hey :). Great job though Ferrari and Red Bull. It's Good to Talk.

F1 » Italian Grand Prix – Free practice results (2)

107SS2009: OnTheOtherHand, Just a simple reminder if you don't mind, A power unite manufacturer may only use and supply to customer teams one power unite specification. Power unites upgraded/modified for cost or reliability reasons are not considered by the FIA as being of new specification to that homologated before such modification were permitted, so a manufacturer can ran both upgraded/modified and non upgraded/modified power unites. On the other hand when a manufacturer upgrades his power unite by using development tokens, the power unite so upgraded is considered by the FIA as being of a new specification, and the rules says that a manufacturer can only use and supply one specification. Power unite customer teams have no such things as development tokens, or any say in their use.
Thanks for clearing that up. So you are saying, if Mercedes have used tokens for the upgrade/modifications, they are to distribute this unit to the customer also. What if the

F1 » Mercedes summoned to stewards, Hamilton win provisional

JunglistF1: I was just about to post the same thing. If they knew about it pre-race why allow them to race in the first place. If it's a straight DSQ post race shouldn't it be a straight DSQ before the race even starts?
0.3 on one tire and you want a DQ
They only tested one tyre. Herbert alluded to the fact that a lower pressure on the LHS of the car was the advantage, so this is where they checked. However, they did not publish the tyre blanket temps, only "they were within range". If the temps were low, I'm guessing the pressure would be low also. It's Good to Talk.

F1 » Mercedes rubbish tyre pressure conspiracy theories

richard: what bunkum! well then, why did you tell lulu to keep his speed up so as to keep tyre pressures at the min. the tyres MUST have been under pressured when they were running cooler!
Richard Perfectly reasonable explanation, answers the question I posed on an earlier thread relating to tyre blankets and tyre pressures. Glad it is resolved, I'm sure the checks will tighten up next time out. Maybe Pirelli should come up with minimum pressures over a range of temperatures, including cold. Maybe solid tyres and more suspension travel could be an option :). It's Good to Talk.
