WSS » Sofuoglu stays top, Cluzel fractures leg

It's amazing how people look down on this guy's achievements. It seems that he's an expert at this particular class of racing, which is arguably the most competitive class of production based racing in the world. It's down to the rider massively, and I'm sure as Heck I'd rather be collecting world titles than running around in 18th in motogp /moto2/wsb. Think about it when your alarm clock goes off at 0600 tomorrow!

MotoGP » Rossi: I still need to beat Lorenzo

Jeez, if using the rain as an excuse made people uneasy, then where do we start with a 'tax distraction'!?!? It should be a good run in. I'm not sure MM will be looking to do VR any favours after Assen, but I'd rather that the influences from other riders were eliminated as far as possible. VRs finishing record has been exemplary this year, but he knows that starting from the second row (or worse) is a risky business. I think he has so much status that no rider will want to knock him off, but by keeping away from him, it'll open up just as many possibilities of him being collected in a tangle. Oh, and Toni Elias is back to haunt him aswell!!

BSB » Brookes: Lack of safety car shows favour to Byrne

safety cars cause frustration for the riders i'm sure, and if the issues were as described, Josh has a point. But he's being a bit hot-headed by naming his rival in his complaint. he's a decent bloke, it seems, and will probably retract that bit next time he has a microphone pushed his way. Meanwhile it's the same argument every year... the shoot out system is there from the start, and it's there for the fans, not the riders. We're going to have some non-event WSB rounds shortly, which will remind us why the BSB system works better most years. Ask the punters and sponsors at the last three rounds what they think. Whilst the tension is somewhat manufactured, I'm pleased that JE is in with a shout at the championship, even though I'd like to see Josh win it this year. Can't wait!

MotoGP » Lorenzo: Two mistakes, no regrets

I know yesterday worked out well for Rossi, but he showed nervousness that reminded me of the 2006 finale. Heavy lies the crown. There has to be a downside to the adulation that he receives. Let's not forget that when Rossi played all the mind games he could (garage wall etc), it was JL who held firm and retained the Yamaha place. So he's got no problem with being the anti-hero. I think it sets up a fasciniating last five races. I also think that we could see some dirty tricks coming from the Italian contingent, and if you remember capirossi's 125 title win in 1990, you know what i mean. Let's hope not, but there - I've said it. And although it as overshadowed by so many goings on yesterday, what was happening when MM almost passed JL, but then dropped back to allow VR past? He even looked back. I don't know what to read into that issue, and it was ultimately insignificant.

MotoGP » MotoGP Silverstone - Race Results

jimsingstuesdays:
PatrickD: The result was the right one for the championship, as rossi had no answers during qualifying. The points are given out on a Sunday, of course, but with Marquez now effectively out of the championship, Rossi will have to do much better in the opening laps from here on. Rossi has the points lead, but i think that JL is the favourite now that he doesn't need to mix it with MM.
What makes you think that JL won't need to mix it with MM?. I don't think you've thought this through, have you?
MM can win races now without worrying the yamaha riders about the championship. So it won't affect them by finishing behind him, should there be a battle at the front of a race. Fairly straightforward, actually.

MotoGP » Marquez: Lorenzo’s speed vs. Rossi’s experience

Does anyone know what the situation with engines is for the yamaha pair? Might that be a factor that will dictate someone's rave capabilities soon? I don't think JL will be able to plant any Lorenzo Land flags anywhere, even in Spain, but he doesn't mind being the pantomime villain. It took an iron will to effectively oust Rossi from Yamaha before, and he's got the stomach. I think the bigger pressure will come with the bigger support. The bookies have JL as favourite too.

MotoGP » LCR talks Castrol, Crutchlow, 2016...

Whilst Johnny Rea will get the world championship he deserves this year, it would probably be quite fair if, at the end of the season, he was given this LCR bike. I think he's worth a punt over CC any day. It's strange to think (from one narrow perspective, I know) that JR's move was the wrong one! Having said that, perhaps KHI will be encouraged by Suzuki's impact and put a green team on the grid. Too many of these Hondas bring nothing to MotoGP.
