MotoGP » Official: Jack Miller to MotoGP with Honda

NineTimes: @ Realist Are you telling me that Fenati and Miller are riding equal bikes? No, they dont'. Miller has the best bike, but he is not the most skilled. That kid Bastianini beaten Miller on that inferior Go&fun and you are telling me Miller is equally talented? In terms of talent, Marquez, fenati and Bastianini are light year ahead of Miller in talent. They just don't get enough attention.
I never said anything about the bikes. I don't think any of them are "substantially" better than the other. They each can be dominant on their day, and the race wins are fairly spread out between the top 5 or so riders.

V4Poweeeer: @NineTimes Wow you have won the award for most blinded fanboy of the week. Fenati more talented than Miller where and when? When he knocked Miller off line at Argentina or Mugello at his home race or last season where Fenati and Miller were on the same bike but Miller was still top Honda powered rider last season. There have been some great rides from moto3 riders this season however the only rider that has I feel has more talent than has been shown is Brad Binder.
I think Fenati, Miller, Marquez, etc. are all pretty darn equal. Miller is not substantially better than any of them.

shamarone: Re: "So what is the point of Moto 2?" It's going away, the announcement's set for end of season. Starting in 2015 the officially class used for sourcing MotoGP talent will be the RED BULL ROOKIES...! It's a right shame neither Wilson nor Lenz lived to see this wonderful opportunity.
Is this S1 pulling my proverbial leg, or do you know something we don't????

Brain: Not sure who everybody is, but i personally had him pegged for greatness after his 1st year in Moto2. Sometimes, the amount of talent one has over his competitors is so obvious its undeniable. He is one of those talents. Those who deny that talent are either extremely disingenuous, or know nothing about the sport, or both.
Obviously you were astute enough to not make statements so irrationally definitive. Look back at the initial announcement when the rookie rule was dropped. He was lambasted for a number of things, and people pegged him to be an overrated rider who would crash all day and not ride well in GP despite his showing in the lower classes. We see how that worked out for the naysayers. I agree with your sentiments overall.

therealDave: To put into perspective how I'm thinking.....MM spent 2 years in Moto2 having come second and then winning the WC and many posters back then were "unhappy" Dorna changed the rules to allow him into MotoGP. Now, miller is 2 years in Moto3 with 3 wins to his name and some posters are all "yeh, why not straight into MotoGP with HONDA"? I think Jack has both the talent and ability to run at the point end of MotoGP eventually.....what's the rush (if not his passport)? Australia may be a small market so Honda doesn't need the sales, however all teams and Dorna need a good turn out at the Phillip Island GP for as long as it's on the calander!
Excellent points and perspective!

crazymofo: and theres one more thing going for him, he is a dirt tracker... doohan, garder, stoner, vermuleun, beattie.. all aussie legends at the sport, all started on dirt track too.. and not to mention MM is a big fan of Supermoto/dirttrack as well. HRC see something in him that can be unearthed further.
Nearly ALL of the top riders are dirt trackers, so that's not saying much. Hell, Edwards and Rossi have entire ranches dedicated to it, and local hero Hayden and his brothers have been dirt tracking since, well, forever. This list of dirt tracking GP riders is long. It's more of a prerequisite than an accolade.
