MotoGP » Rossi: One of my best ever wins

Abefan:

PR: The stars aligned... MM run out, JL had helmet problem and Dani not that good here (although this time showed great potential before race). It's a great and deserved victory but not quite complete.
Really? That's how you're going to play this? Helmet problem? Give it a rest.
I haven't seen the race, but helmet problem sounds a bit limp as an excuse at a dry race.
Agreed. It's about as silly as his "mosquitos" excuse last year. It's not like his helmet or visor came off. I mean, he held it down the front runners nearly the entire race (until Rossi passed him and left him for Iannone to deal with).

MotoGP » Rossi: One of my best ever wins

billypat7: Rossi's combined time of 42'35.717 for the full 22 laps of the race is the fastest in the history of the Qatar circuit. Now take a moment to let that sink in... He (a 36 year old lad, who until last year was written off by everyone) and Dovi (with the help of the magician Gigi) outperformed the likes of CS,JL and MM
Prepare for disagrees because your true and verified stats don't align with people's fantasies and inner disdain for certain riders.

MotoGP » Rossi: One of my best ever wins

Eltel73: Cont: Soon be fodder and so it proved, in fact Rossi's race pace was evident in warm up. When VR passed JL, he could do nothing about it, and was clear that VR was much quicker. You sound a bit bitter when you say stuff like stars aligned and all that jazz. Fact is no one was giving VR a sniff at the win, because he was on the M1 and the Yam had been poor in FP and quali. There was a bigger picture at play and Rossi, and to some extent Lorenzo showed that they were concentrating on race pace. Warm up suggested it, and the race confirmed it! No doubt that in Texas the tables will be turned and it will be a Honda precession, But today was a VR masterclass in how to "Race" without the "best" Bike, so it was a complete win regardless of who was or wasn't around him.[/blockquote] Well said!
