shuggiemac: How I miss the days when this class wasn't sanitised by rules and standardisation. Having more than one tyre company meant that the manufacturers would do their level best to get an edge over the competition. If you have a fixed supplier then they can dictate what has to be used.
You mean the Stoner-Ducati winning days. Multiple tire suppliers making bike-specific tires, no engine and/or fuel limits. Yes, I also wish they come back...

No test riders are able to get the full potential from the factory bikes. If they were, they'd be in the racing team instead of the test team.
Casey Stoner was the test rider so you figure it out ....
