MotoGP » Arm-pump caused Stoner slump

All things said and done. The top 3 in this race are the fastest guys in the paddock and will most likely collect the most podiums between them. Lets hope there is always a fight for 1st in all of the races this season to keep us entertained. I'm sure the championship lead will change hands on more than one occasion. I have to say as well I'm really happy to see Pedrosa up there looking like he can win races. I've never been his No1 fan but I'd like to see him fight for the title this year with the other two.

@badbob I am not a Stoner hater of a Rossi fanboy. But I do sometimes make a negative comment about Stoner because his die-hard fans can talk some about of BS on here.... This track is apparently a Stoner track, he's won here so often and always on pole. This year he was 2nd in qualifying and 3rd in the race. Thats a bit of a blow if you ask me. If his advantage was going to show somewhere this track is where it should be most apparent.

@lemmy, Stoner slacked on his race simulation runs by NEVER doing a FULL distance race sim during testing and practice. You might ask, why on earth would someone NEVER do a full distance test on their new bike??? It would be a fair question, everyone else does FULL distance race sims to test themselves and the machinery. Stoner doesn't do FULL distance race sims because he knows better and says there is NO point in doing it..... OK Casey, whatever you say mate!

He wasn't smiling when he got off the bike and he wasn't smiling on the podium. He was pointing at his arm, holding it and generally not looking very happy. Just to make sure everyone in the crowd could see how sore his poor little arm was. He was smiling in the press conference because he's playing mind games with JLo and Pedrosa.

You know, looking at the middle ground here between the Stoner fanboys and the Stoner haters.... It is possible that the arm pump is an excuse and that tyre wear was a bigger issue for Stoner than he expected hence fading towards then end. BUT the reason for using arm pump as an excuse is ti play mind games with his competition. He said in his interview he was happy they had the pace to be the fastest bike, so he's saying to the competition he is stil the fastest and that its not a set up issue. To try and give the competition some doubts... at the end of the interview Stoner had a big smile on his face and JLo didn't look too impressed with his comments. It's all mind games.

Looking at the lap analysis... wow Spies was so slow generally running high '58s or low '59s. Something very wrong there, be interesting what Yamaha and Spies say about it. I hope he can bounce back and this doesn't effect his confidence too much, took him ages to get over his slow start last year. As much as I want Cal to beat Spies it's a shame to seem him struggle that much, he seems like a nice bloke and a capable rider normally. We need two factory Yams fighting for a good season.

Very entertaining race!!! Brilliant from JLo and Pedrosa! Stoner well... fast but couldn't stick it. I said last week sometimes he gets caught out by not running full distance race simulations like everyone else, I think this was one of those occasions. Good show from Crutchlow. First thing you have to do is beat your team mate! I didn't see anyone getting lapped? Is that right or did they just not show it? Seems the CRTs hung on then?
