MotoGP » Nicky Hayden: No regrets…

@Bolt Nicky is a better prospect of a rider than Cal in my honest opinion, he is a tireless rider who gets his head down and works hard week in and week out and has far more experience developing bikes than Cal. He also keeps his mouth closed and is as professional as they come, something Cal needs to learn (i have the feeling Cal running his mouth about contract talk is gonna bite him in the ass). He also moves bikes in a market that is expanding greatly for Ducati. Nicky on a good bike is a podium threat, we've seen that back in his Honda days and even today with the still struggling Ducati. He's not a dominating or #1 rider for a team but that is what they pay Rossi for. I personally think Ducati is having second thoughts on Cal, but if they do choose to go with Cal, i think Ducati will put a compelling offer on the table for Nicky to go to WSBK to race for them to keep an American in the stables, and Nicky would be one of the strongest contenders on the new Panigale that woul

MotoGP » Crutchlow: I learned a lot from Rossi

Cal has yet to step up to the podium and the M1 is a very strong package indeed even with a satellite bike. He needs to running up front near the podium to be trying to convince anyone he should be on a factory bike, be it Yamaha or Ducati. While Cal has grown as a rider he still hasn't shown why he should be in a factory seat over Spies or Hayden, two riders who are quite talented and have won races and are podium threats...and sell bikes in a big market.

MotoGP » Dovizioso sends message with podium hat-trick

According to GPone Dovi might be riding a factory HRC bike for Gresini if Yamaha doesnt come through with something for him. Apparently he's not ruling out going to WSBK either, but why he would do that when he's performing so strongly in MotoGP is puzzling. I think Dovi best bet is to stay with Tech 3 and see if Yamaha will supply him a works M1 there. His chances of running factory colors are incredibly slim, the pull Yamaha US has is enough to keep Dovi out. It would be interesting to see Dovi in Gresini livery riding the RC213V, it could be Honda's backup plan for competing with Lorenzo, and Honda has ran 3 factory bikes before so its not out of the question.

MotoGP » Buoyant Hayden expecting a 'wild one'

His race pace is quite far off from Lorenzo/Pedrosa but if he can battle for the podium i'll be very happy! If Nicky can get a good result here i wonder where that will leave the contract talks as it seems Ducati has slowed down on its pursuit of Cal as it was supposed to be a done deal this weekend and its not looking like that is going to be the case. Rumors from the press is that Valentino himself prefers to partner with Hayden if he is to continue with DucAudi, but he has claimed to deny this. This isnt the first time Rossi has done such a thing, as he did this with Colin Edwards back when they both ran the works Yamaha. I hope to see some promising things from the Ducati on Sunday and the test on Monday

MotoGP » All-new Honda for Mugello MotoGP test!

People getting their panties in a bunch over nothing. The engine is exactly the same the differences are purely in the chassis and weight distribution to the current For Honda to pull out their 2013 bike it means that everything they've tried thus far with different chassis parts on the 2012 have not work and its most likely not worth the money to keep pumping out multiple parts only to still be in the exact same postion with chatter issues. Audi and Ducati needs to take note, this is how you solve issues. Having great riders doesnt mean a damn thing if you aren't willing to give them adequate support and actually LISTEN to the riders and their needs instead of just forging on with what your design ideas are *cough* Preziosi *cough*

MotoGP » Frustration as Spies loses out to Dovi again

They aren't going to sack Spies unless he absolutely cannot get the job done. He is just slowly starting to rebuild himself, and with the American market being quite lucrative for Yamaha they would be killing themselves. Its also why i find it puzzling that Ducati would rather have Crutchlow over Hayden, especially since the American market is that good right now...unless he's headed to WSBK to pilot the Panigale to which i say ok!

MotoGP » Spies leads surprise top four in frantic Assen practice

There is little doubt that Nicky can run up front as he clearly has the skill level but they need to find consistent race pace, something the Ducati does not have yet. As it stands JL is set to dominate this race putting in consistent times. Spies is the only person besides the aliens i think who will be running up front come this weekend. Cal i think may be in contention for a podium depending on how good he is physically. Was there a problem with Stoners bike today?

MotoGP » Crutchlow 'in with a shout of factory Yamaha ride'

Rossi has a better shot than Crutchlow at a factory Yamaha seat. Rossi brings the dough and sponsorship (something they instantly lost when Rossi left ironically), and still has the talent to compete up top. If Spies gathers himself and keeps his factory seat, and the Ducati gets competitive so that Rossi stays there (i'm sure Bologna will keep Nicky, as America is Ducati's #1 market and he shows signs of running at the front when the bike performs) He might not find himself on a factory bike at all...

MotoGP » Ben Spies makes front row return

Its imperative that he waits till about lap 3-4 if he doesnt get the holeshot before he starts making a charge for positions, with such cold weather i'd hate to see him crash out because of tires not up to temp. Race predictions: 1st Spies 2nd Stoner 3rd Lorenzo 4th Bautista 5th Pedrosa 6th Dovi 7th Hayden 8th Barbera 9th Bradl 10th Rossi (lack of experience at the track & poor dry setup...typical Duc)
