MotoGP » Re-signed Rea heads for Aragon

@ya never know Got any sources for this or are you just repeating unfounded rumours? The RCV powered fireplace rumours have been around as long as the RCV. They are resurfacing now because Honda have announced plans to build a "supersports bike based on motogp technology". Honda themselves are talking about another RC30, not a replacement for the fireplace. Under today's rules the RC30 would not qualify for WSB. The rumours of Honda quitting GPs and concentrating on superbikes have been around as long as WSB. As for the rumours of Honda quitting GPs they are as old as the hills and less interesting. They are so popular because of something that most of the people repeating the rumours probably don't even remember. Once upon a time Honda did quit when the FIM introduced rules limiting the number of cylinders and gears in each class. Because of that every time the rules haven't suited Honda since they return somebody has started a rumour that Honda would quit.

MotoGP » Re-signed Rea heads for Aragon

Here are a few examples. It was rumoured that they were going to quit... ...when they first came back unless the FIM introduced rules to make their Never Reacy four stroke competitive. ...when they wanted to run a turbocharged 250 four stroke based on F1 technology. ...when WSB was introduced. ...when MotoGP was introduced. Curious since Honda were said to have petitioned for MotoGP in the first place. ...when MotoGP was limited to four cylinders. There were others too. The point being that you can take with a pinch of salt any rumours that Honda are going to quit. There were even rumours that they were going to quit WSB if the Ducati rule was not abolished. In the end they actually used the Ducati rules to win themselves.

MotoGP » Dani Pedrosa: It was total chaos

@Ostravar74 If the result of this race should be nullified then the same goes for Assen. Sometimes things happen to a rider that are totally beyond his control. It's all very well saying "if Karel didn't have a clutch problem" or "if race direction hadn't stopped the race" then Dani wouldn't have started from the back. Or indeed "if Hector hadn't screwed up..." Just as it's all very well saying "if Alvaro hadn't been a complete and utter ****wit at Assen then Lorenzo would probably have at least 20 points more than he does now". What's happened has happened. It levels out Jorge and Dani in the bad luck stakes this year. Once upon a time grands prix had a rule where each rider had to drop his worst result. The idea being that it evened out riders who'd had one really bad weekend with the riders who'd been lucky all season, but at least this year luck itself has evened things out between the two main contenders.

MotoGP » Crutchlow: No new parts to help Lorenzo

Yamaha must be pretty sure they can't rely on Spies to be fighting for a podium. Plus of course there's little point in giving Spies or Dovi 2013 parts. And they wouldn't want to be rewarding either of those two with some sort of loyalty bonus. However one good qualifier is not really enough to base suspicion upon. Why not wait for the result of this race, and probably the next one before making wild statements?

MotoGP » Title contenders skip first Misano MotoGP session

@Jack Sorry, but I don't see it. What's the point of the riders coming out if all they are going to do is tour round? For them it's pointless and for the spectators it's dull. What you want to see is the riders pushing it and they're just not going to risk ruining their race or season just to keep a few fans happy in the very short term. Equally as a spectator I want to see the race and the season as a whole be as entertaining as possible. Why then would I be interested in seeing a a rider take pointless risks in a wet practice session?
