MotoGP » Ezpeleta: BBC to BT like 500cc to MotoGP

All this talk about Spanish riders being favoured is nonsense. The sad fact is that the Spanish championships are the only real feeder of young talent into MotoGP. Most of the riders in the Spanish championship are (surprise, surprise) Spanish. Hence the domination of Spanish riders. If you want to succeed in MotoGP these days you have to move to Spain at a young age. Time was there were other national and regional series that fed MotoGP, but they have either died out or gone superbike. In many cases they died a death after going superbike. Partly, I suspect, because running a superbike is much more expensive than running a race specific 125. The UK like most of the rest of Europe is a stable market. If Dorna want to line their pockets then what they really want to do is encourage riders from their growing markets. For example the pacific rim. Unfortunately there just isn't the competitive coming from those markets at the moment. The real issue here is that most countries are not s

@alex every sport is the same, why rant like this about MotoGP as if it's any different? Did you spout this crap when other sports went subscription or PPV? World Superbikes has been subsription only in the UK since way before Dorna got hold of it. Do you post similar nonsense about WSB or is it just that you're on the "Dorna are evil" bandwagon? Sport is a business and as such is about making money. It's not about giving you free entertainment. That's the way the world has been for a very long time. Get over it. And yourself.

MotoGP » Crutchlow: I could be replaced by Espargaro

@Mr G I'm not quite sure what you're getting at with your comments about Ducati, but I don't think that's had any bearing on Yamaha's decision making. Every rider talks to as many teams as possible when it comes to contract renewal time, the teams expect it. The riders are just trying to do the best they can for themselves. Likewise teams talk to as many potential riders as they can, they are in the same position as the riders. Most of the riders understand this too and don't start chucking their toys out of the pram just because their team or sponsor has spoken to somebody else.

@jjthekid46 "Out-qualifying Rossi doesn't prove that Cal is better than Rossi." It goes further than that. If you outqualify somebody you start with an advantage over them, so if they beat you in the race it proves you're not good enough to hold on to that advantage. In addition Rossi has always been known for using practice to work on his race setup. Even at his peak he often wouldn't qualify that well because unlike others he hadn't worked on a good qualifying setup. Could it be that Cal spends too much of his practice time working on his qualifying setup? If spent more time working on his race setup could it be that he might do better in the race?
