MotoGP » Casey Stoner set for V8 Supercar deal?

Motojunky...I follow MotoGP, not a particular rider. Lets look at why the best team on the grid is willing to back this bloke. In the slightly detuned test car in his first outing in a V8 he was lapping faster than Craig Lowdnes, the three times champion. In his second outing, and first time in a fully tuned tier 1 car, he was lapping within 2 seconds of the best ever times. Those faster times done during qualifying on new tyres and low fuel by the best in the business. Wayne Gardner ended up in the best team in V8 Supercars and did very well at Bathurst and also won the first ever V8 Supercar race! Barry Sheen ended up being a Supertruck racing champion for many years. The ability to concentrate for extended periods of time and feel the machine under you are the two most important aspects and as the 888 team owner said, Casey has got those skills in bucketloads. My brother is friends with the bloke who purchased the sister car to Casey's. He says the field will not cut him any slack a

2nd Tier is not 2nd rate you complete *****s. So Martez is 2nd rate because he raced in the 2nd tier Moto2 class? Many of the drivers in the Dunlop series end up co-piloting, and winning, in the best 1st Tier cars in the endurance races. The car he has been given has won more races than any other in the 1st Tier competition. He is being backed by the best team in the competition. He has just purchased a $5 million dollar house on the Gold Coast and is living his dream whilst you guys think you are somehow superior to him because you hide anonymously behind a keyboard and make inane remarks. And even when driving V8 Supercars he will still be the best MotoGP rider alive today.

MotoGP » Will Ducati win in MotoGP 2013?

How can you blame Stoner for developing the bike? Each year he would be given the bike at the beginning of the off season testing and a few changes would be made prior to the first race AND THEN NO NEW PARTS WERE PROVIDED FOR THE WHOLE SEASON!!! He sometimes resorted to retrofitting older parts to fix issues as Ducati would not provide updates. Some people who post in this forum speak the biggest load of crap and obviously have no idea of the sport or its history. They let their bias towards a rider turn their brain into mush.

BSB » BSB Rider of the Year vote: 1st

There have been World Champs that never won a race in their championship season. Andrew Pitt for Kawasaki in WSS for instance. So consistency is a valid way of winning a championship but it can be boring, so they introduced the Chase (Nascar) or Showdown (BSB) concept to make the riders/drivers RACE and not dawdle around for points.
