MotoGP » Casey Stoner still struggling with ankle injury many crashed at that same corner? Were they pushing the bikes or going any faster than the ones who didn't crash? It was the uneven surface that made a whole group of the world's best riders crash. Some landed OK. Stoner landed awkwardly and sustained the only injury that has ever stopped him racing in all his years in the championship. Glad to know he was acting with the Lactose Intolerance. With the way he looked like death warmed up and the worried looks of Dr Costa he fooled the world. So now he is not racing he is sure to take up acting and win an Oscar or two.

MotoGP » Casey Stoner still struggling with ankle injury

For God's sake. He had a damn injury that takes up to 8 months to heal with rest. He is abusing the damn thing and you expect it to miraculously fix itself? He has said from the first GP back that right hand corners are the issue. There were only TWO of those at Phillip Island. That is why he thrashed every other rider there and made them look second rate. Where were you smart **** comments when he did that? He has beat Rossi at this track in 2007, 2008, 2010 and 2011. He was 1st or 2nd each of those years. Just another track where his record since 2006 if far superior than Rossi.

MotoGP » Stoner interested to see how Marquez performs

When Casey announced his retirement he was thrashing Danny and 1 point behind Lorenzo. But somehow he was scared of never winning another championship? How does that figure? Who in 2013 would challenge him if he continued? The same two riders because Rossi is not going to cut it. He may win a race or two but Rossi is not going to be championship material. We are going to get another year of excuses from Rossi and accusations from his fanboys of "Yamaha made the bike for Lorenzo!" and "Danny's Honda must be the better bike!" and "He would win if he was younger!". Rossi was a complete failure on the Ducati. He was an utter failure the year Lorenzo taught him how to ride.

MotoGP » Rossi: 'Emotional' Sunday, 'can’t wait' for Tuesday

Here we go. Doohan only won because he had a far superior bike? There were up to 11 other NSR500 on the grid each race. There was next to no difference between the works bikes and the satellite. The Yamaha was equally as good. I hate it when people try and diminish the achievements of other riders and then praise Rossi and blame the last two years on Ducati. Ducati can't wait for Tuesday either. They will finally have some new riders willing to push the bike and not totter around complaining. For MotoGP's sake I hope Rossi can ride the M1.

MotoGP » Casey Stoner: Career highlights

I had already put a comparison of Stoner v Rossi career milestones in another topic. Sometimes Stoner did something earlier than Rossi and vice verci. Basically they both have astounding records. You can only be judged by the competition your race. Rossi was impressive against Biaggi, Giberneau, Capirossi etc. He has not been as that impressive against Lorenzo and Stoner. Rossi's highlight has to be when he got that 10 second penalty at Phillip Island. He made the rest of them look second rate that day. Stoner's highlght has to be his speed on the 2006 satellite bike. People called him a crasher for pushing that bike to its limits. Rossi actually crashed more in his first season on a 500cc but people forget what a terrible time he had adjusting to the bigger bikes.

MotoGP » Casey Stoner heads for last MotoGP race

Yep, Stoner quit when he was thrashing Pedrosa...again. So there wasn't much to be scared of. There was no mention of Rossi quitting a job left unfinished and crawling back to Yamaha so unless Stoner is psychic he never had the chance to be scared of that eventuality. But then he beat Rossi when he was last on the Yamaha so why would he be scared this time around? It is not like Rossi has taken Stoner's winning Ducati and gone fast on it. Perhaps he was afraid of Marquez who is yet to show any form on the bigger bike. Or maybe it was the thought of having to combat Smith on a Tec 3. After all, he is British and they have won dozens of MotoGP races and world championships lately. Whatever, he must be terrfied as there is no onther explanation for him retiring. Family, homesick, wants to pursue other interests. Hogwash!

MotoGP » Casey Stoner heads for last MotoGP race

So it is acceleration that was the advantage now? I haven't seen one person mention that in all the comments made about his article!! Its all how much faster the Ducati was. I have watched the 2007 races several times and Casey passes others under brakes and with superior mid corner speed on just as many occasions as on the straights. When he does pass on a straight more often than not it was slip streaming. People will just not admit that skill was the determining factor of his 2007 championship.
