MOTOGP » Bryan Staring gets Gresini MotoGP ride

Here we go, comparing riders of different classes and claiming one is better than another. Once again the crash.net experts know more than the people whose job it is to spend the millions of dollars of sponsorship money and run a MotoGP team. What they looked at are his results when racing against bikes of similar performance, i.e the STK1000. His race craft is second to none and his ability to ride around bike issues are what stand out of this STK1000 season. He is a nice bloke who tries hard on whatever machinery he is given. He more than qualifies for this chance and it has nothing to do with him being Australian. Since when has any Australian been given assistance by the F.I.M? When an Aussie gets a ride they are guaranteed to have earned it.

MOTOGP » Casey Stoner: Six of the best

More wins. More poles. More fastest laps. More lap records. More laps led. Won on two different bikes. Won on every circuit. Only one stat that compares and that is World records and only because they occur once a year. Simple mathematics. Stoner thrashed Rossi. As for picking on Boner's comprehension, read his post. Anybody who says "U r not good at this mate..try somethin else.." is fair game.

You have trouble with comprehension Boner? English not your native language? They knew about his wrist problem. It took a while for them to come up with a solution. Is that so hard to understand? Do I need to list the endless times Rossi mentioned his injury? Why would Stoner need to make things up? In the seven years he raced MotoGP he thrashed Rossi in every measurable statistic. This rubbish about Stoner being a moaner is just that and it is the thing people like you hang onto when it has been demonstrated just how superior Stoner has been for seven years. When I show Rossi saying exactly the same things it turns to "But it is how Rossi said it!" Yep, he has been full of smiles when endlessly complaining about the Ducati for two years. The hypocrisy is amazing.

MOTOGP » Casey Stoner: Six of the best

I have said countless times but the Stoner bashers ignore a simple fact. From the end of the last pre season test to the end of the each season Stoner was never ever given new parts. The bike he started the season with was the one he ended with. No changes to engine, frame, brakes etc. On several occasions they would retrofit older parts onto the new bike to resolve handling issues. Like the adjustment of the seat to help with his wrist, they made do with what they had because nothing new was coming from the factory. Compare that to Rossi. They closed down their WSBK support so that they could provide new parts on request from Burgess and Rossi. They provided dozens of major updates and still Rossi couldn't get a result. These are facts, not fanboy fantasies.

MOTOGP » Casey Stoner: Six of the best

Here is Rossi getting on with it...13/04/2009 2nd to Stoner. Today the conditions of the track were quite different to before and we encountered a couple of small problems related to tyres. 26/04/2009 2nd to Jorge. There was part of the race that I wasn't quite able to ride like I wanted, there was some kind of problem. 31/05/2009 3rd to Casey and Jorge. We made a mistake and chose a tyre that was too hard, so it took me a long time to be able to put enough temperature on it and I lost a lot of time. 05/07/2009 2nd to Dani. Second is good today because we were not in perfect shape here, we missed something in the setting. 04/10/2009 4th to Jorge, Dani and Stoner. I was never able to be fast because I did not have enough grip in the rear and our tyre did not work well. 02/05/2010 3rd to Dani & Jorge. We have struggled all weekend, first with my shoulder and then with the bike..I tried to go with Dani but then I started to slide a lot.

MOTOGP » Casey Stoner: Six of the best

I am not and have never belittled Rossi's achievements. What I have continually defended against is the belittling of Stoner's. Nobody has done better over the seven years he has raced in MotoGP. NOBODY. That is a simple and undeniable fact that "Let it be" once again ignores. In plain English. For the seven years Casey Stoner has raced MotoGP, the statistics alone show him to be the best MOTOGP racer over those seven years. Add the fact he is the only one to win races and championships on two different brands in MotoGP over those seven years. Add the fact he has won at every venue on the current calendar. Once again we have people trying to argue historic statistics from Rossi or achievements outside of MotoGP. In the last seven years in MotoGP, who has done better? Give him the recognition he deserves, it doesn't stop you loving Rossi.

MOTOGP » Casey Stoner: Six of the best

During Casey Stoner's seven years in MotoGP he was the most successful rider. He won more races and had more poles and led more laps and had more fastest laps than any of his competition in those seven years. He has been the only rider in those seven years to win a race on two different brands! He has been the only rider in those seven years to win a championship on two different brands. He is the only rider to have won at every venue on the current racing calendar. His achievements are undeniably brilliant and he retires with the knowledge that whilst HE was racing in MotoGP, HE was the best. No harping on about Rossi's past achievements will deny that fact which I will repeat again. Over the seven years Casey Stoner raced in MotoGP, he was the BEST.
