F1 » Horner defends Red Bull chassis after Ricciardo backlash

Puts it into perspective for me then.......posters on this site owe Seb an apology for the stuff they dished out last year! As for Dan, he should contain his frustration when in public. Why? Because he is paid in part to drive, in part to evaluate and in part to promote the team and its sponsors in a good light. Drive - Check Evaluate - Check Promote team & sponsors in a good light - up until now, check but going forward ??? As a side note, not hearing too much (anything) about Sebs pit stop which cost him and compare that with Lulu's drama queen act? Looking at Sebs stats, his behaviour last year in a poor car and his behaviour this year, I would say.....true sports star!

F1 » Wolff plays down call to manage Rosberg attack

Here in Australia, we only get the 1 hour highlights package on free to air so I only watched the highlights the day after. When the info came over the radio to conserve the brakes, I thought they must have an issue with the car! Reading the articles about the reasoning for that advise raised a very real and relevant question in my mind.... ...it wasn't due to any specific issue on race day but based on the cars issues last year at the track. So, shouldn't they have given the same advice to LuLu?????? This is as blatant as team orders can be so the governing body should be jumping all over this. Seeing what the german is up against in this team, it makes the last round even more joyfull for him I am sure........

MotoGP » Marquez: We have a lot of work to do

1554: unfortunately Mark is now riding his own bike, all of what he has requested not the remnants of Casey Stoners development. As talented as he is I dont think he yet has the ability to develop the bike for the future. I wouldn't mind betting you will see CS doing a lot more testing for Honda.
ha ha ha... I believe all his fans were praising the testing CS had done behind the scenes for the current bikes ??? Wasn't that what some were putting last years dominance down to ??? What short & selective memories some people have! Not to mention the form guide here..... Jumps on Duc never ridden and bike slowly goes backwards Jumps on Honda never ridden and bike slowly goes backwards Time has come to pass and MM has not only filled CS shoes but broke the mould, they needed to make bigger ones. Let it go, he's gone, and should he return, let the myth busting begin!

MotoGP » Rossi, Lorenzo: Race pace comparison

Yearby23: Realist. Agreed, however Rossi should've beaten Lorenzo easily in 2008/09 as Lorenzo as a rookie and in 2009 didn't receive the development Rossi did due to a wall being up....
Poor argument Yearby as MM disproved the whole "rookie" excuse in 2013 which also disproved the "less development as number 2" excuse. Wall went up due to different tyre manufacturers (initially) and what development exactly would be hindered by the wall other than set-up? Are you saying Jlo needed VR's set-up back then?

MotoGP » Rossi, Lorenzo: Race pace comparison

Yearby23: Mr Dave, Apologies, my mistake, I'm sure Jorge will make it 2 a piece this season though.
It could just as easily be 3-1 to VR with more wins by the end! If I were you, I would wait until mayber round 18 to make such statements. What are the chances we won't have a wet or even mixed race or two? What are the chances Vale won't take advantage of hotter conditions on the harder compound? What are the chances someone doesn't take someone else out impacting the results? Not much is certain other than right now, Vale has a 6 point lead in the WC after a 3rd of the season....who would have thought!

MotoGP » Rossi, Lorenzo: Race pace comparison

BReed: The only 2 cards left to play are the rain card and the hard tyre card for the rossi fans.
Maybe for the fans? But I'm sure Vale has more cards than that left to play. As Jlo fans or non-rossi fans, the question should be what cards Jlo has left after "get to corner one in front and shoot off"? That's the point I was trying to make but I apologise for not making that clear.

MotoGP » ‘Over the limit’ Marquez talks Mugello misery

teamtrx:
cossiegaz: Honda need to try Stoner on the RCV, if anyone can ride a bike with front end issues and aggressive handling its Stoner!
Come on mate...should they bring Doohan? maybe another ace? Agostini? You CS guys should come to the present... On the second thought, maybe maybe Kenny Roberts or Freddy Sencer should give a go hum?? Wake up! you guys!!!!
And one could just as easily point out that CS has tested and coincidently, the bike does appear to have gone backwards at the same time. Considering they are front end washouts then bringing stoner back would simply emulate his 2006 year on the sat when he was doubed "rolling stoner". CS has always said his 2006 Honda was a race winning capable bike. So, has MM got a race winning capable bike? seeing he already has one win this year I think he needs to lift his game!

MotoGP » Rossi, Lorenzo: Race pace comparison

The first lap gap of 2 seconds is made up of the extra distance VR has to make (starting from 8th is a number of meters more than starting from 2nd) and the battle with traffic versus Jlo's clean run from the first corner. Better qualifying will reduce that gap! The middle of the race, especially Mugello, VR is still battling riders and overtaking and being overtaken while again, Jlo has clean air. So the real (rider) difference is the final 5 laps which is not clear because yes, Jlo backs off (no pressure) and Vale is either charging (Mugello) or settling for a position. Vales' issue is qualifying and concentrating on fixing that will go a long way to countering Jlo. Also keep in mind, Vale is consistently fast regardles of conditions where if we get some mixed condition races we know Jlo backs off conciderably. The year is not over and just think, Jlo has dominated the last 3 rounds AND STILL TRAILS VALE IN THE POINTS. When will Jlo's next poor round strike?

MotoGP » Rossi, Lorenzo: Race pace comparison

Yearby23: For everyone arguing about more race wins/podiums between Rossi and Lorenzo. Count the years they were both team-mates... 2008/09/10/13/14/15...Its fair that way, counting Lorenzo's rookie year and Rossi's 2013 learning year. Lorenzo has 27 wins and 62 podiums.... Rossi has 22 wins and 64 podiums.... Those are statistical facts. Yes Rossi broke is leg during 2010 but Lorenzo broke his heels in 2008 and had inferior tyres blah blah... During the time they've been team mates Lorenzo has been more successful even though they both have 2 titles a piece during those seasons.
Incorrect, Vale has 2 titles but Jlo 1...they were not teamates in 2012. Facts don't lie! In the main stakes (titles) Vale is more successful (within your perameters). The rookie year bit is crap as MM has proved and 2013 learning year is also crap, Vale has been in the class for 13 years at that point.

MotoGP » Rossi, Lorenzo: Race pace comparison

Yearby, A more factually correct summation of your parameters would be, WC = VR 2 v Jlo 1 Wins = VR 22 v Jlo 27 Podiums = 64 v Jlo 62 ....neither has dominated the other but vale has an extra WC ie: bragging rights. Also interesting, with the exception of the last 3 very impressive rounds by Jlo, WC = VR 2 v Jlo 1 Wins = VR 22 v Jlo 24 Podiums = 64 v Jlo 59 .....totally irrelevant but just saying!
