MotoGP » Rossi 'Lorenzo frustrated', Marquez 'fun is faster'

You are such a laugh AussieNSW....when us fan boys would say Stoner had a rocket in 2007 and it was more bike than rider, you would constantly highlight Caparossi's performance as the counter argument. Now, in a different era, you try to say that its the bike resulting in Marc's performances. Well, where is Dani ... 2 points ahead of VR after 5 rounds on the same bike Marc is making all look slow on. I said it many times during 11 & 12 when you would regularly post (not so much posting from you these days I have noticed) that time has a funny way of revealing the truth. And here we are, MM the real deal and Rossi almost second in WC and pissing all over his team mate (on the same bike & tyres).

MotoGP » Jorge Lorenzo: 'It happens'

How a person reacts to adversity speaks volumes. 2010, VR worked hard to get back on the bike and turned heads. 2011, while the results weren't there, he (and his team) worked harder than ever to do "something". 2012 was the only time I can remember where VR looked "lost". They were still all working very hard but VR looked beaten by the experience. 2013, hard work to pick themselves up, VR and his crew became competitive again with podium's, a win and their best season in 3 years. 2014, with nothing to prove to anyone but himself, he has now set his sights on somehow competing with MM and currently, is the only rider with any chance. Why this critique you think......4 hard years by VR standards (10 to 13 with broken leg, loss of Simo and yes, Ducati) and all he knows is to keep "swinging" and not give-up! 5 rounds of struggles in 7 years for Jlo and he looks dejected and ready to stew in his own self-pitty... How a person reacts to adversity speaks volumes.

MotoGP » Rookie Espargaro: ‘Hey man, you’re in third!’

just my opinion but at the time that contract was handed out, VR was struggling and it was looking like he would either retire or his level would justify being sacked, so either-way, Yam needed a gun for 2015. Its great to have a plan but as we all know, things change. Now, VR says he wants to race for 2 more years and on current form...should. This puts Yamaha now in an interesting position as VR is the best Yam rider currently, Pol is showing he should be there and its Jlo who's looking lack luster (oh decision decisions). Many posters bang on about VR being the past not the futre and no reasonable person would disagree but nor would they disagree on keeping your current performer, promoting an up-and-comer and letting the current "weak-link" go? If you take all the emotion behind the names away, that formula can be seen at play in almost every team sport around the world (not to mention everybody's workplace).

just another opinion, with everyone on open rules come 2016, it may be a stroke of genious if Jlo actually opted for an open ride with an M1 next year. A years headstart adapting to the bike and rules and sorting out what works and what doesnt. If Pol is competitive now, what is Jlo capable of? Jlo already asked the question of the factory team. Why not take matters into your own hands? It may seem like a step back now but could actually reap huge rewards come 2016????? This also applies to Pol.....why would he want to forgoe another year on the open M1 to adapt and learn the factory simply to jump back to the open in 2016. I wouldn't mind betting the both Jlo and Pol are leaning more towards open than factory for 2015....

MotoGP » Rossi mistake ends Marquez victory battle

@Mintox, Better to leave CS out of these discussions. You hold onto the past too tight and you miss the present. Plus, those myths are well and truely busted now. Also, You mention how he "developed" MM bike? Correct me if Im wrong in saying MM holds most if not all lap records currently, so if by any stretch of the imagination MM is on stoners bike (your inference), he is riding it a hell of a lot faster than stoner could.....

MotoGP » Jorge Lorenzo: 'It happens'

At this level its all about confidence in the bike, tires, electronics which all feed your self-confidence. Rossi didn't UNlearn how to ride fast during 2011-2013 and sudenly learned again in 2014....he lacked confidence in a number of things through those years. This is what Jlo is struggling with now, a lack of confidence in the bike or tires or both which have now fed into a lack of self confidence. Its a vicious cycle because as VR now knows, you need the results to regain your confidence but to get the results you need the confidence....... People bang on about how it took VR 3 years but Ducati didn't listen and last year Yam concentrated on Jlo (as they should have, he was fighting for the title). This year, Yam have given VR a frame he likes and his team have sorted out the breaking. A pre-season and 2-3 rounds was all it took when real, directed effort was concentrated on him! The same will be for JLo, if Yam direct attention to him for 3-4 rounds he will be back.

You have one of the greatest ever along with the one destined to join him in that club, telling Jlo to relax and find some fun again......Jlo should listen. As much as I bag Jlo (specifically to highlight to the VR haters their hypocracy), he is one of the best and has not lost his ability or nerve. He looks unhappy and that's what MM & VR are telling him (almost like his track coach should be). At what poiont do you put your ego aside and listen to those around you? As for moving to Honda, a lot of posters seem to think if Jlo wants it it will happen.....what do Honda want? Do you think that will have any impact?

MotoGP » Lorenzo: It’s been the opposite of Jerez

The soft tire lasting the race is not this issue, its whether it will have enough grip to allow him to push come the final laps. We know in all races (bar one), VR has had enough in reserve to push during last laps where JLo hasn't (as much). I have no doubt it will be DP, Jlo & VR scrapping for positions come the last laps but Im pretty sure it wont be VR worrying about tires.

MotoGP » 'Big disaster' averted, Rossi ready to fight

Huskymick:
lux:
Think he has had his day. But the sport will suffer until he calls it a day. No new blood on works bikes.
Sure hes not as good as he was during his top years. But what you say sounds, sorry, totally stupid. Why should *he* go among everyone? Without MM who's killing the field Vale would probably be the favourite for the title!!
He's only 3rd at the moment and far from walking away with it.
...which means there are 20 odd others to go before him including Jlo!!!
