F1 » Ricciardo ready to spoil Vettel farewell

I don't understand how Rob can hate someone he has never met (and will never likely meet). Is it because he prevented your favourite driver from winning WDCs? It is sad that an adult can be so petulant. I am happy for the Mercedes drivers that they have had a great car and now a chance to win the WDC. I don't know either of them personally but they have done what was needed with the cars they have. If a driver does that then that is worthy of respect, even if the car is a Caterham.

F1 » McLaren-Honda aiming high in 2015

Everything Boulier says is so full of PR rhetoric that it would be better if he never said anything. Of course they are aiming high otherwise what is the point of spending all that money. I will be surprised if Honda/McLaren are finishing in the points in the first half of the season. They might beat Sauber in the constructors championship but Force India, RBR, Williams, Mercedes, Ferrari and maybe even Lotus will be out of reach until maybe 2016.

F1 » Vettel ‘ready for next step’ after last Red Bull ride

dmelb: I think Richard is confused. Ricciardo qualified ahead of Vettel. But as both were disqualified from Qualifying - a count back was done based onfree practice results, hence Vettel started ahead of Ricciardo from pitlane. Ricciardo was the last car to start the race.
I think because they changed some PU components on Vettel's he was relegated to start behind Dan. Have a look at the pic posted by Keith on F1 Fanatic and it is clear the Vettel is behind Dan waiting to start.

F1 » Vettel ‘ready for next step’ after last Red Bull ride

david opie: I agree with ALL above comments, i just have ONE QUESTION though... DID Seb ACTUALLY end up starting behind Dan? OR... did Dan somehow end up lining up in-front of Seb, at the end of the pitlane? The reason i ask is that A. i noticed Dan left his pitbox roughly 1min before Seb (as the rest of the field were lining up on the grid, towards the end of the warm-up lap)! One would presume this left Dan ahead of Sebastian. Otherwise, surely they would have exited their respective pit-boxes in the reverse order. B. FOM-Tv never showed Dan passing Seb on the 1st lap (which one would presume an over-take such as this would have been worthy of a replay, or two)! Both of which leave me to believe Dan started AHEAD of Sebastian! Either-way... BLOODY AWESOME RACE FROM DANIEL RICCIARDO!! Any other comments or observations on this topic would be appreciated.
Dan was in front of Vettel. F1 Fanatic have a pic of Vettel behind Dan waiting to start.

F1 » Ecclestone: ‘No point’ F1 targeting young fans

I started following F1 as a young guy about 12 years old back in the 60s. It had the glamour and excitement that was missing in other sports. Bernie's attitude sums up the cynical approach to fans the F1 has been increasingly displaying in recent years. There is no glamour or excitement anymore. The young generation are into extreme sports that satisfy their short attention span. The regulations are so complicated now that they can't be bothered trying to understand them. I said a while ago that I don't expect F1 to survive beyond 2016 and I stand by that.
