Interesting results but you can't read much into them yet. Although I think Button must be a little worried to be 2 seconds off the pace of the guys at the top.

The reality is that if he loses his RBR seat no other team will take him. If he wants to continue with RBR he will need to be careful that he doesn't repeat his efforts in Brazil last year. He is pretty much on notice that he is expected to put the team first and his own ambitions second.

@ghog I don't recall mentioning either of the German drivers. I would not be inclined to mention MS at least as he is retired again.

There is a bit of a queue in the field concerning possible greatness being bestowed on someone. I see Kimi and Alonso as being ahead of Lewis at the moment. As I said earlier, only time will tell. I do have a sneaking suspicion that Kimi could surprise a few people this season.

Generally those who seek greatness miss out. Greatness is not only about what you do but also how you do it. Time will decide whether Hamilton achieves his ambition. In the meantime he should focus on the job at hand and try to be a little more humble.

RBR seem to be relatively happy with the aero package and seem to be focusing on other aspects to minimise tyre degradation. Most other teams are still trying to find more downforce.

People keep saying that it is in the actual races where Rossi will shine but they seem to ignore the fact that Jorge's laps are scarily consistent the whole race distance. He is fast and he can maintain that speed. Just look at the times he was doing in testing. Lap after lap after lap all within a few tenths of a second. Unless the others can match his speed for the race distance I can see him getting another championship this year.

Lewis should win a few races. If the car is reliable he might even have an outside shot at the title. However, Nico in equal machinery will be tough to beat consistently throughout the season. It should be a very close season with 3 or 4 teams in contention so it should be good for spectators

According to Alonso he was giving 120% in the slowest car on the grid last year and many people believed him. If you look at the race lap times he and Massa were doing most of the season they were up there with the McLarens and RBR. The reality is that he did drive well in the most consistent car on the grid. The fact that Massa was actually faster than him for much of the second half of the season has been glossed over by the Ferrari PR team. He is a very good driver and capable of winning another championship. I just wish he would cut out the bullsh!t.

Blah blah blah. We will see how well you go in a car that is 200 times better when you get to Melbourne. The problem is that, after these proclamations, he won't have anything to blame if he doesn't win the championship.
