MotoGP » EXCLUSIVE: Crutchlow talks 2014 ahead of Ducati exit

Crutch is simply not making any sense. I didn't know that riding bikes for a living is about "movement within the organization". It's supposed to be about movement on the track. He's riding a factory bike and getting paid a lot of money to do it, what's his problem. Where does he want to move into? Engineering? Management? So fine he wasn't going to be a factory Yamaha rider and left for Ducati. But he was a factory Ducati rider on the Ducati factory team. I'm just not getting his problem.

F1 » Kate Walker: Nico’s alleged thoughtcrime

"In the real world, punishing people for alleged thoughtcrimes has been the hallmark of extreme dictatorships, from Mao's China to Stalin's Russia, by way of Pol Pot and the Khmer Rouge. "'re kidding, right? Surely you're happens 17M times a day. And it would happily happen this time if Roseberg wasn't leading the championship. He proved a point: Hamilton can't effectively block faster cars without running a real risk of being taken out of the race. The fact that he was taken out BY HIS OWN TEAMMATE would have been plenty of evidence ALONE for investigation...if his teammate hadn't a) been leading the championship b) gone on to finish 2nd while Hamilton c) was 2nd in the championship d) DNF'ed and e) Mercedes was running away with the constructors' championship. You're right, the risk of a PR disaster was just too great but clearly people get punished for "thoughtcrimes" all the time. Don't even bother to go there. In a world that regularly uses "ends justify the

F1 » Trulli happy away from F1

I'm not sure that it makes a difference whether they are good or bad, talent-wise. It makes a big difference whether they are unsafe. What they need to do, if anything, is something akin to European football, where the bottom drivers (in either points or finishes or whatever) have to sit out a year. Maybe even the teams. It's not really "racing" when you've got riders crashing themselves and others out of the race. 20 teams on the grid, 19 are going to lose, 10 are never going to podium. Most of them are going to lose money anyway. Let them run and have fun.

MotoGP » Honda: Podium next step for 'factory spec' Bradl

and if the racing continues to be predictable the future of MotoGP is going to lie in adding more variation to the performance of the bikes. If they are too consistent then the racing is going to suck, it's that simple. The laptimes could differ by a tenth of a second over a lap between bikes, the results will still be predictable if they are too consistent.

MotoGP » Honda: Podium next step for 'factory spec' Bradl

I mean there should be a scientific way to determine how close the bikes have to be for there to be real "racing", with passing and position-changes. That really did not happen last year. Lorenzo was capable of running 2nd comfortably, either Stoner or Pedrosa won when Lorenzo wasn't winning...the rest of the race was a matter of also-rans, with the competition there between Dovi and Crutchlow with Cal happy to crash out and hand Dovi the decision, in many races. Bradl usually cruised home in 5th, Bautista in 6th and Rossi and Hayden picked up 7th and 8th. Quite often. It was almost predictable. Unless the bikes are much closer this year, we're likely to see the same type of predictability.
