duh, "having more options makes for better competition". What genius. Sure, as long as they aren't expensive options. Then the inevitable complaint will be that they allow the wealthy teams to buy races. And as long as the mfgs of the options are independent, or they will complain that they give the mfgs too much influence over the teams. Ultimately the take-away is that any plan will work as long as it make sense for the environment in which it is used...and if not then it's a bigger problem than the problems that it's supposed to solve.

Crutch is simply not making any sense. I didn't know that riding bikes for a living is about "movement within the organization". It's supposed to be about movement on the track. He's riding a factory bike and getting paid a lot of money to do it, what's his problem. Where does he want to move into? Engineering? Management? So fine he wasn't going to be a factory Yamaha rider and left for Ducati. But he was a factory Ducati rider on the Ducati factory team. I'm just not getting his problem.
