MotoGP » Honda responds to Production Racer criticism

Mick, do you remember this: "At the presentation, HRC revealed that when former champion Casey Stoner tested both bikes at Motegi on the same day (and same tyres) the difference between the Production Racer and full factory RC213V was only 0.3s. And when they put in the softer compound rear tyre, only available to the 'open' class riders, the gap was just 0.17s! The Production Racer, which will be sold rather than leased, is a toned down version of the RC213V - leading this year's championship with Marc Marquez. The main differences are steel rather than pneumatic operated valves, and a conventional rather than seamless shift gearbox. "
so Honda said that the difference between soft & harder compound is JUST 0,17 sec right? can't figure out what Honda production racers are thinking to opt the Honda production bikes, based on Honda's 'promotional statement'. 0,17 sec doesn't make
