MotoGP » Rossi: Better than Brno, but still fourth

chrissb6 "66 bimota I don't buy that Rossi opens the throttle earlier than the rest and burns more fuel. Nobody is as hot in or out of the corners at the moment as MM, JL might have saved fuel being out in front but l very much dow't that also, he needed all the fuel and power to win that race. " I did not say earlier, I said faster, AKA closed to Wide Open Throttle (WOT). Big difference especially to a fuel map. Having built 20 Fuel and advance maps on 4 different EFI systems I can tell you if you open the throttle faster from a low RPM setting you will use more fuel. Think about it, if JLO is at 8000rpm and goes to WOT and takes the bike to red line say 17000rpm, he will use X fuel. If Rossi being slower on the apex of same corner is at 7900rpm and goes to WOT and takes the bike to redline he will use more fuel. X+100RPM more fuel. Fully agree on Marquez - he is probably faster on the gas than anyone, but he is riding a HONDA. Lets compare apples and apples, not apples and hotair

MotoGP » Rossi: Better than Brno, but still fourth

All this angst over why Rossi is not faster. Needs a new chassie. Needs a new gearbox. Needs a new engine.... What ever! Aside 1 Yamaha ridden by JLO the rest are floundering. Yamaha has a problem, there number 1 rider has a technique and set of skills the others can not reproduce. If Yamaha want to do better with other riders, bringing Rossi's wish list to the game is probably a good idea. BUT will it kill the golden goose, JLO... As for running out of fuel. Rossi's technique of slower apex speeds means he's opening the throttle faster, this burns more fuel. This is why Lorenzo does not run out, neither did the other/slower yamaha riders. If all the

MotoGP » Rossi: Stoner 'started to hate me' after Laguna 2008

Biggest mistake of Stoner's - beating Rossi on a POS Ducati that no one else could win on. Made the bike look good and lead Ducati to believe every one else who rode it was simply not trying hard enough. Biggest mistake of Rossi's - getting on the same bike a day later and proving that he could not even get close to Stoners times at the Valencia test. Subsequently has to admit though (only to himself though and probably Uccio) that Stoner is a lunatic to have gotten those results. Bring on 2013!

MotoGP » Rossi: Stoner 'started to hate me' after Laguna 2008

“In the last few years, the sport has become too serious and so have the riders... . I think it's important to be able to have fun too!” Its not fun Vale. Not for most of the paddock, who struggle and have to make way in teams for incompetent riders who get payed to much and can't get results. For those that look at the death of Marco Simmoncelli and say, that could be me, do I want to see tomorrow? Fun is what you have when you have the best gear and a significant gap in talent with those you are racing against. Yes, it has not been fun because Lorenzo, Stoner and Pedrosa got extremely competitive. Which by the way is how its supposed to be! "its not fun!", "stoner did not like me" - please don't become a whinger like Casey.

MotoGP » Pirro: Ducati test role better than CRT option

Percentage@ 'The problem is the CRT rules. Give them more engines and better rubber ....or give them toluene. Pretty simple. ' They do have different aka, stickier rubber for 2013. Seems that without 250HP you could not use anything but the softest Bridgestone gp tyres. Well der! Toluene??? Dude you are old school like me then. A big tip of the Toluene can and raise the compression by 2 points, yeah!

MotoGP » Pirro: Ducati test role better than CRT option

Grendelhop: Let's hope the Honda "Production Racer" is more competitive than the Aprilia CRT bikes, as well as Yamaha going forward with M1 engine leases... So these Faux factory engined bikes get to use twice as many engines in a year and, more fuel.... Hmmmm.... Me thinks the CRT frame makers are begging to get there hands on these engines. Let alone a 1 year old factory chassis with these 'CRT' engines in them! With the dispensation for fuel and engines, a config like this could give a factory bike a run for its money. No wonder Honda wants to build RC213Vs for everyone, cause if they gave out motors they might get there own butts handed to them!
