F1 » F1 Driver of the Year 2014: 1st

2 things: 1.) YAY! Daniel Ricciardo deserved this reader poll, he has shown excellent racing this year and has made me proud to support him and to be an Australian. He is a like-able guy and adds some character in a world filled with the same old bland interviews describing the "Situation" or "Tyres". 2.) Merry Christmas to all Crash members, I wish you well for the new year and can't wait to get back into action for the 2015 season :) Next year I'd love to see Massa win a race, Ricciardo win the championship, Ferrari back on form, oh and Hamilton wining some races too because that always makes for some great fun with you lot.

StrangeRanger: Please remember that two of Ricciardo's three wins came as a result of Mercedes meltdowns: the ERS system in Canada and Rosberg's ego in Belgium. His win in Hungary was un-assisted and very well deserved..
This is nothing against you personally, I just need to get it off my chest. Nothing annoys me more than when people say "Ricciardo only won because the Mercedes' broke" or something similar in any sport. Who's fault is that the Mercedes broke? Their own. At the end of the day every person finishes exactly where they deserve too, when you think about it. With the exception of team orders. All 3 of Ricciardo's victories were 100% deserved, because he and his team : a.) Built a car which was capable of finishing the races with no mechanical issues. b.) Were in a position to earn the race wins. It was always Ricciardo there behind the Mercs ready to pounce, never Alonso, Vettel, Button, or Raikkonen. c.) Yes, his wins were as a result of the

c.) Yes, his wins were as a result of the Mercs failing. That's their own fault. Also his overtaking this year has being, perfect. CRASH: I remember that we used to be able to write comments as long, or longer than my previous one. I definitely noticed something changed. What exactly did you change with the comment system? Did you just make it less characters?

F1 » Ricciardo: Ferrari title more appealing to Vettel

Tesla: @Webbertron You're reading too much into it. DR is a good talent for the sport, but to diminish and rubbish Seb would be stupid. I believe Seb ran into so much of bad luck with his car etc. Anyway, what's past is past.
I have never diminished Seb. In fact, I have actually being supporting him (his move to Ferrari, where I mentioned he will do what Schumacher did. . . hopefully) and defending him whenever people hate on him for no reason. As a die-hard Webber fan, I don't mind Vettel at all, I'd be lying if I said I never disliked aspects of him, but I do give him the respect a 4 time champion deserves. My comment was simply stating that winning the world championship includes beating your team mate. Which Vettel failed to do this year. That's all.

F1 » F1: Verstappen reveals car number choice

BtwnDitches: How about "17" (his age)? And, let's see if we can get "Hot Wheels" as a sponsor . . . You're right: I'm NOT in favor of putting guys this young, immature & inexperienced on the track with 20 some other "seasoned" drivers who have certain threshhold expectations about the folks pulling along side at 300kph. Call me old fashioned.
Immature, no. If anything Verstappen has proven himself to be very mature (for his age). He has to be, all Formula 1 drivers have to be. Forget the 3 words you mentioned, because at the end of the day there is only one word that matters. Talent. Which is what we will be judging him on. Vettel first drove an F1 car aged 18, he's now a 4 time champion.
