MotoGP » Casey Stoner: I’ll do whatever I can for Ducati

Haha... Laguna Seca...turn 1, round the outside. Hydralics the size of bowling balls! “We've had our differences in the past, with people who are no longer there especially.....We weren't seeing any sort of budgeting for [bike] improvements etc in the past." This is obviously referring to the former CEO, Del Torchio. Given the amount he's ridden on race level bikes, it would be almost unbelievable if he runs laps in the official test and is competitive. If anybody could do that though, it would be this bloke. Amazing rider.

MotoGP » Jack Miller confirmed to miss Sepang MotoGP test

This is hardly a surprise after they showed the x-ray last time. His ankle is a mess. Maybe Dr Mir can work a miracle for him? If he's lucky, he'll be racing at Qatar. It will be a while before his ankle works properly though. I don't like to sound cynical, because I think he has talent, but I wonder if the MX free-wheeling airborne thrills were worth the risk...

MotoGP » Crutchlow ‘optimistic’ despite wait for 2016 Honda

@Jem, you are indeed inviting criticism. The combined results of the factory and satellite riders compared to their prior performances suggest that something was not right on the bike. According to Cal and others, it was the engine. Since the riders making those claims have ridden it at or near its limit, maybe they have some insight that mug punters like the rest of us lack.

MotoGP » EXCLUSIVE: Scott Redding - Q&A

I didn't comment on Scott's results much last year, because he was obviously having problems and under-performing. Now that he's on the satellite Ducati, I'm hoping for some fairly significant improvement. His new team mate had an impressive year, so he will have a tough yardstick. The Ducati could suit him. The GP15 was an improvement on the previous iteration, but it is still short of the full package. It has loads of power though, and a bigger guy like Scott might be better placed to control it than a tadpole might. He's put in some good test laps, but lets wait to see how he goes on raceday. I hope he does well. Top six sounds like a bit of a stretch goal though.

MotoGP » EXCLUSIVE: Cal Crutchlow - Q&A

@Braap - both posts on the money. Cal's obviously pretty relaxed spending some time at home, and hasn't got into the relentless travel cycle of the season, along with the frustrations of a "problem bike" to heighten the anxiety levels. He's probably had time to reflect on what an amazing job he has...and how good life is. Good for him. I hope Honda sorts his bike out. I also hope he's right about Pedro. He definitely is world title worthy. Looking forward to Sepang and Monday. Less than a week!

MotoGP » Honda, FIM won’t release Rossi-Marquez clash data

Codger: AussieNsw.It's a sad reflection on Motor Bike Racing fans that Barry got his share of hatred from so called fans. ...
Personally I admired Barry for his race skill, his character, and the good he did for safety. However, one aspect of his safety crusade was was saying that the IoM TT was too dangerous and should be banned. Some say that resulted in the IoM losing World Championship status and have never forgiven him. I'm on the fence.
I understood that the push to drop the IoM TT from the championship came from Ago, after his best mate (or at least a close mate) died there in the early 70s. Ago boycotted the event after that.

MotoGP » Honda, FIM won’t release Rossi-Marquez clash data

mrfill: After over 165 posts, I think we can say that holding back the data didn't do a very good job of reducing polemics.
I have to admit, I had a laugh at that. Not that it matters, though, polemic if they did, polemic if they didn't! Mind you, they might as well have released it. It couldn't have made anything worse, since anyone that would have objectively looked at the data probably isn't particularly given to polemics...
