F1 » Hamilton fastest as Mercedes shows pace

Taipan:
Clifton Richards: God-fearing people generally speak like that...
Like what insensitive brainless ar$eholes? yeah that's probably true. Someone posted on the Telegraph website... "even in a deep coma Michael's brain works far better than Lulu's" and that's probably true too!
I'm trying to write this without it seeming like another bit of Taipan-bashing, but even sharing a comment like that is insensitive, even without the clearly derogative follow-up. We should leave the brain-farts to LH and the general public rather than fan the flames

F1 » McLaren unveils one-off livery for Australian GP

107SS2009: Vincent Tan buying a controlling interest in FERRARI? You must be joking more so on the blue colour.
its a UK footballing joke 107. He bought Cardiff city (who played in blue for 100 years) and changed their shirt colour to red. I'm not aware of a single Cardiff fan who does not still wear blue, I am not aware of one who does not hate him for doing it. I think a Ferrari colour change would be received equally badly although I do recall (through seeing a painting) that Enzo ran the works Ferraris in blue/white NART colours when FIA wouldn't let him have his own way once.

107SS2009: Now that RD is back in the driving seat and if he still aspires to one day be the equivalent of FERRARI he should ask FERRARI how they have always managed to resist the temptation and pressure from sponsors to stray from their signature red.
I understand the Vincent Tan is buying a controlling interest in Ferrari and painting the cars blue

F1 » Vettel bullish on title chances

107SS2009: The official number one FIA knee jerk, “FIA to be lenient with 107% qualifying rule” (Charlie Whiting). Many doubted me when I posted to that effect some days ago.
unusually I'm a bit sympathetic to FIA on this one, I thought the original intention (along with the entry fee) was to stop no-hopers like Life turning up and making F1 look a joke. Being scientific about it, 107% means being lapped around 4 times a GP, 110% means 5 times, not a massive difference
