F1 » Rosberg: Remember this one!

good point dario. why not let rosbeg pass hamilton and then consolidate? same thing with redbull, they could have just told webber to let vettel pass. shows us that the reason for the team order (at least at redbull) was only to make sure both cars would finish. i am glad they didn't make the drivers swap position first, in a way it is almost like they did not issue team orders at all.

F1 » 'Raw' Webber considering quitting?

simo makes interesting points. engine preservation. ridiculous tyre degradation. if those two had raced to the finish they would have maybe had two or three laps max to try and overtake and run away from the other (drs) before the degradation of the tyres had made complete fools of both, leaving hamilton with the win. only if he (hamilton) had stuck to the plan though, which was to tone it down and bring it home without unnecessary risks. vettel was scared out of his mind with the idea that webber would win and lead him in the points. he must have felt like he had no choice but to flagrantly violate the trust of his team and probably his contractual agreement with redbull. i love the drama. i hate the new tyres.

F1 » Vettel: I messed up, I'm sorry

had webber won this race he would have led vettel in the standings. maybe redbull really does treat their drivers equally and vettel of course being aware of this he had no choice but to do what he did. the team order probably had everything to do with the ridiculously crappy tyres that pirelli produces this year. had webber and vettel raced to the finish one of them or both would more likely then not have crashed. same thing at mercedes. i blame pirelli for those team orders.
