F1 » Wolff insists F1 is in good shape

Is he trying to convince himself or the paying public, either way he is deluded. We have a ludicrously expensive formula, we had three teams having to be baled out to start the season, we have Manor Marussia who would be better off in club racing, we have McLaren who are so uncompetitive they are a joke, we have pay drivers and racing that is more a procession of drivers running different tyres and strategies, in short it is not racing at all. Everybody knows this but nothing will get done until we are left with about three teams running two cars. What sane organisation would want to come into F1 when they knew that whatever money they had they would remain at the bottom of the pile. There are sensible answere to the problem but they don't want to know, as long as they have a budget of several hundred millions everything is OK.

F1 » McLaren pinning hopes on Barcelona gains

F1 needs Mclaren to improve rapidly, it does F1 no favours having one of it's once leading teams trailing round like a bunch of amateurs. If the technology is so advanced perhaps Honda should have waited another year to come in. Better to be seen to get things right rather than what has happened. Also F1 needs another fully competitive engine to be available for teams like RedBull who clearly want to lose Renault. Hopefully this will happen but not perhaps until next season.

F1 » Alonso: Button DNS underlines McLaren work in progress

There is a long way to go, their reliability problems are not behind them and the car has not run with anywhere near full power whatever that is, I think it will be well into next season before we see any real improvements and by then there will beyet another new Mclaren and probably new power unit from Honda. Honda have underestimated what needed to be done and Mclaren have overestimated how good Honda would be and they don't meet in the middle.

F1 » McLaren drivers still motivated despite poor start

Difficult to stay motivated I would have thought after all this is Buttons last shot and he would probably been better off taking a sports car drive as he is not likely to be around long enough to gain the full benefits from all the improvements. A s for Alonso well we all know where he would like to be and with Rosberg under pressure that might well come sooner than we think

F1 » Hamilton: Only team-mate can provide ‘true race’

Norville2:
theoldgitspeaks: This is a flawed argument from the start, it only applies if you have a Senna/Prost, Mansell/Piquet situation, Rosberg good as he might be is not in the same league as Hamilton and I say that as no fan of Hamilton's. Perhaps when Alonso jumps ship to Mercedes we will finally see who is the best driver on the grid.
Did they not share the same car before? Did Alonso blow him away?.
I am not aware that I said Alonso would blow him away as you so delicately put it all I meant was that Alonso was a far better driver than Rosberg and would prove to be much more competitve, is that clear enough for you?
