F1 » Magnussen praises McLaren for P4

Nick101, i'm well aware of the facts, but Button is paid a huge amount of money to be Mclarens lead driver, he has been openly warned by RD to pull his finger out and has failed to make any real improvement, which is no great surprise given his past record, his age is against him and he has never been a favourite of RD so he probable has a mountain to climb to be seen to be making the effort. Of late I have thought that Button when interviewed has shown that he is well aware that he is in the last chance saloon, he has seemed downbeat and resigned and he has'nt been afarid to criticise RD which would seem like a death wish to most people. It's also an open secret that RD wants Alonso back and if that happens Button will be on the scrapheap, a great shame as i've always been a fan but at least he has a championship and a huge bank balance to enjoy. F1 » Boullier: McLaren experience shining through

It's a pity that Mclaren did'nt use some of their so called expeirience to design a good car in the first place, we then would'nt be having this continuing bleeting about how much they are improving and how they get the best out of a crap car. Despite all this "talking up" of their performances they have of course achieved very little for a long time, a few race wins is all they have to show for it and one drivers championship in 2008 and a constructor's as long ago as 1998 I think, not really the performance of a leading team. It remains to be seen if the second coming of RD has any real effect.
