F1 » Manor hoping to build on Sepang lessons in China

Very pleased to see them pressing-on. So many on this board suggested they were only making the minimum effort in order to collect last year's winnings. If the rumors are true, then shame on BE and the FIA for beating them up. I guess the powers-that-BE will not be happy until there are three teams running six cars each. One with a mandatory woman-driver, of course. Good luck Manor F1. My new favorite Minardi-like underdogs!

F1 » Raikkonen ‘struggling’ despite reduced gap to Mercedes

This sort of highlights the downside (for lack of a better term) to having a driver like Alonso on the team. He can drive anything, grabs it by the throat and just gets the most out of it. Most teams seem to naturally gravitate towards building a car for the driver who scores more often. Now that he has left, the team has refocused on making a car that works...for a "normal" driver. Ha! Not surprisingly, this will will give both drivers a better chance to do well. Ferrari said that they had spent all Winter getting the front of the car to work for Kimi. That's probably the best way for a team to work...although watching Alonso extract so much from a less-than-perfect car is also quite entertaining. I think that we will see both Ferrari's challenging for regular podiums this year and that's never a bad thing.
