MotoGP » Espargaro: We are really f**ked in that aspect!

Garcia: I understand ducati needed help to work on the bike but if they wanted to go open they should have been made to run the open software like everyone else in the open class
They do run open software, so far as I know. But they have an advantage over the other teams using open software, as they have more experience and data, and resources (except maybe Suzuki?) to exploit the software. Also, Honda and Yamaha have to freeze development of their own software from July onwards. Gigi is pretty clever.

MotoGP » Ducati fired-up after leading final test

I feel sorry for the other teams apart from Honda and Yamaha. Ducati have much more history with Magneti Marelli than any other team so being forced to use the standard electronics is no penalty at all for them. Seen as they also have the engine development concession this gives them a big advantage over the other teams running open or concession spec. Factory Honda and Yamaha are far enough ahead so they won't suffer too much but I feel sorry for the other teams, who are being screwed.
