F1 » Alonso ‘ambitious’, targets Ricciardo

Alonso is yet again involved in a battle with someone which has a better car. Anyway is not only Ricciardo, Bottas also is not far away and has the chance to score a lot of points in the next two races. The reigning world champion is also there or thereabouts, with a bit of luck (or without the bad lack that hampered him in the first half of the season) he can join the battle with Alonso, Bottas and his team-mate as well. Interesting times ahead. There's also the trilling battle for the WDC between the Mercedes drivers, which is the most important.

F1 » Fast start for ‘best of the rest’ Alonso

@Cris Zarate Alonso always delivers something to cheer about, whatever car he drives, especially this uncompetitive F14T. That's why I admire him so much, that's why I think he is undoubtly the best driver in F1 since 2006. On bad cars many fails to impress (think about Hamilton at the early races of 2009, Vettel and Raikkonen this year or Button) while he is always is there scoring some good points, extracting everything from his car. What a pity that he never had once a dominant car for most of the year. He would crash the opposition, I'm sure about it.

F1 » What we learned at the British Grand Prix

Silverstone must be cursed :P because usually a driver doesn't win consecutive races here. The last time it happened was in 1999-2000 when Coulthard won the British GP back to back. Even the great Schumacher having won there in 2002 and 2004, was out of picture in the 2003 event while his team-mate Barrichello was very hot on his wheels at the 2003 race. Webber came close to win it last year. After winning it in 2012 he finished less than a second to Rosberg in the 2013 event. After qualifying it looked that Rosberg may win it again but the gearbox...Anyway he and Lewis were on different strategies so victory was not certain for Nico.

F1 » Rosberg: It’s fantastic – but it’s only qualifying

The qualifying battle between the Mercedes drivers is 8-4 in Rosberg's favour until now. Despite Lewis having had a few problems here and there, Rosberg's job has been remarkable on this front. Let's see who will win tomorrow, a lot of stuff can happen in Spa. Personally I would like someone else to snatch victory under their nose, like Ricciardo did in Hungary but there isn't much chance for that to happen on Spa-Francorchamps. Mercedes is on another level at the present.

F1 » In memory of... 1984

I don't think that comparing Lauda and Prost with Hamilton and Rosberg and the situation of 1984 to that of 2014 is entirely correct. The McLaren Mp4/2 was the best car back then, Prost also won 2 titles with the B and C version of that car. But the Brabham was as fast in 1984 and Piquet retired many times while leading the race commandingly. This year Mercedes is the fastest car on both single lap and race-pace, so no much interference from the others. Also both Lauda and Prost were astute and intelligent, I am not sure that the Mercedes duo is like them. This article stated that the intra-team battles between the Williams drivers back in 1996, or McLaren ones in 1988/89 were a different story. I agree. But the 2014 fight between the Mercedes duo is a different story as well compared to any previous season. That's the story of Mercedes, Lewis, Nico and co in the 2014 FIA F1 season.

F1 » Rosberg beats Hamilton to pole at wet Spa

Mercedes was more than 2s ahead of everyone. What a great car is the W05. Luckily for them and F1 in general, they have two very strong drivers, so we can watch a genuine battle between them. Vettel also did a very good job, so credit to him. But will have to fight Alonso, Ricciardo and Bottas for a podium finish tomorrow. And all of them are ahead of Vettel in the standings at the moment. So it will be a very important race tomorrow.

F1 » Hamilton hoping dream reoccurs at ‘special race’

George Zaidan: My dreams are more important than Nico's. Hey Nico, you won the British GP last year can I have this one? No Lewis, I need to win a this one too, I'm shooting for my hat trick, you've got one of those and a WDC, so it's only fair that I get a hat trick and a WDC. I hope you understand and that we can stay best friends for ever and ever.
Nico, is not a good friend, that's would say Ali G. :)
