F1 » Mercedes: Korea should suit our car

What, like Spa was? Red Bull has once again conquered all, and now everybody's pretty well stopped developing their cars, expect to see them disappearing into the distance by 0.5-1 second per lap for the rest of the season. It's not a bad effort by Merc overall - award for most improved I'd imagine. But one wonders if anybody will ever be able to compete with the current Red Bull staff short of a monster engine discrepancy.

F1 » Hamilton: Vettel’s won already – and it’s getting boring!

You can't argue with the number of comments that a Hamilton story generates. That's why crash and all the other media outlets keep giving them to us Tacitly, everybody who has contributed to the huge stack of them on this story, for example, is acknowledging the interest that the man generates. It's the same reason we keep getting all his musings, no matter how casual, presented as newsworthy (like this one). It makes him seem arrogant like he thinks everything he has to say is worth hearing, but in fact its the reporters who keep sticking mics in his face and spamming news outlets that are to blame.

F1 » Vettel: I knew it would be hard to beat

I agree RE Vettel. I was willing to call him great after the third title. It will be hard to deny after the 4th. OK he's had the best car, but he has routinely been destroying the guy on the other side of the garage, to the point where you almost don't think about a Webber victory any more. If you don't believe me, just look at the way all the pundits talk about races in the leadup. They all say "The Red Bull is strong so it looks like it could be another Vettel win", not "it could be another Vettel or Webber win". He's also been super consistent this year, and shown excellent racing craft, pushing just when he needs to and holding back at other times. I think he's become the complete racer.

F1 » Pirelli confirmed as tyre supplier for 2014

+1 for Pirelli have done a good job (barring a few slip-ups). They were explicitly asked to make tyres that wore out to improve the racing spectacle, and that's what they did. And for my money it did improve the racing spectacle. Sure we had whingers coming on here every time their team didn't win because of tyre wear, moaning about how terrible Pirelli are. It's a non-argument though because everybody has to use the same tyres. I'm a Mercedes fan, and nobody suffered worse with the tyres than them up until half way through this season, but I for one would not wish to swap to bulletproof tyres and go back to the processional days of yesteryear.
