F1 » Vettel back to work with fifth win of 2013

Really the margins of victory and defeat in the races and WDC are thinner than they appear on TV. Vettel is a great driver with a great car. And he is hungry too. If Alonso and Ferrari had not made the wrong call in Malaysia, he would probably not be this far behind Vettel on the points table. If Ferrari could sort out their quali performance, then Alonso would be closer to Vettel in the races and put greater pressure on him because that car has the raw pace to do it. But these are all ifs and buts and woulda coulda shouldas. Till Ferrari put it all together on a consistent basis, then Vettel will always run away with the championships.

F1 » Hamilton extracts 'absolute maximum' for Spa pole

I observe and can't help LOLing at the intensity of some of the polarised views on the forum. Some on either side will not budge from their position, despite whatever facts there are, staring them in the face. On a related note, I would love to see the TV networks create programmes or devote segments of their coverage to the kind of rivalries there might be between the team owners, team principals and engineers/mechanics in F1. Seek their views on their opposition, commission documentaries on their careers, their personalities, views on drivers, their charitable work, etc. Anything to spice up the shows and raise the profile of F1 further.

F1 » Robertson: Raikkonen has options

@rob01, You have made similar arguments over the years. But Ferrari do not make sentimental decisions when hiring their drivers. They hired Alonso despite Ferrarigate when he was at McLaren, so they can easily re-hire Raikonnen. You need to quit that line of thinking, cos it does not work. The only exception to this has been Massa, to whom they have been loyal but who now needs to deliver consistent results or get fired!

F1 » Are you a Kimi Raikkonen fan?

@FW14, That is a fundamentally flawed argument and you know it! It's like telling Kimi that his efforts were worth nothing that year....just because the "two better drivers" took points off each other. As if it was his fault that the McLaren team could not manage their two squabbling drivers and he only won the title by default. Like saying his determination and never-say-die attitude was worth nothing. If that is the case, then you are not a true F1 fan and you do a disservice to true sportsmanship and determination!
