F1 » Alonso: We can still win the title

Murph, It is not his job to look happy for losing. That does not automatically make him a sore loser, just a sportsman with a winning mentality. He is a fair and hard racer and for him, second is not good enough and he always wants to improve, which is a good thing. Your comment also implies that Vettel always looks happy when he loses....

F1 » Ricciardo: I'm not here to run around in tenth place

There's a small part of this conversation I don't quite understand. If DR is the best choice out there and has earned his position on merit, where is the fighting talk that he will beat Vettel and win titles? Why have his fans taken such an apologetic stance....."we are very happy for Dan and we wish him the very best and hope he can prove himself" etc etc. This is Formula 1 and you can't have it both ways! He is either the best choice or he isn't! You can't dance around the issue. If Kimi had been chosen, we would have been hearing words from his fans like: Now, that's what I'm talking about!! Bring it on! Vettel is in trouble! etc etc. But Ricciardo's fans sound a bit surprised/apprehensive...yet they keep claiming that he is the best choice and he is there on merit.... WHICH IS IT??

F1 » Ferrari sets September deadline for 2014 switch

Vettel will most likely win this season and next season as well. There is no one that can stop him right now. May not be great fun for all the fans, but that's just the way it is. From the way Adrian Newey speaks whenever interviewed, I believe they have a separate team already laying the groundwork and working towards the 2014 car, even though they're still developing the 2013 car. For them, it is not a case of stopping work on the current car before starting work on the next one. I may be wrong but that's the impression I get.

F1 » Domenicali: Felipe my favourite choice

In a couple of years' time, Domenicali will probably have one of those "moments of enlightenment" and realise he should have put sentiment to one side and got rid of Massa years ago! But by then, it may already be too late and he himself may be following Massa and Smedley out of the door. One other litmus test that can be applied now is whether the Red Bull team even considered approaching Massa for the vacant Webber seat for one moment? If the answer is a categorical no, then Domenicali has his answer right there. Whether he sees it is another matter.

F1 » Whitmarsh: MP4-28 a misjudgement

There are "periods" when everything comes together for a team. Red Bull currently have the closest thing to Ferrari's dream team of the Schumacher era. McLaren and Williams fans are probably just wondering when it will happen again for their teams. A long frustrating wait can be....well....frustrating! The next period of domination is likely to be Merc's, especially if Newey leaves Red Bull to start all over again somewhere else.

F1 » Alonso: We can still win the title

I would say that Alonso's demeanor is from the warrior mentality that is going into opposed to him being a sore loser. You can see a similar thing when other Spanish sportsmen lose, e.g. Nadal in Tennis and the Spanish football team. They are winners by nature, they mean business and take no prisoners. If you watch Alonso closely when he is interviewed throughout the grand prix weekend, his is one of the warmer/more sincere smiles. And unlike Kimi who even struggles to smile after he has won. Not that I have anything against Kimi, it's just his style.
