F1 » Coulthard: Ferrari fight will be fascinating

This is a great development for all fans of F1 - and what we had hoped Red Bull would give us. Still, Sebastian Vettel has to be applauded here. He has singlehandedly forced Ferrari's hand to bring these two superstars together to try and stop him! I wonder what the reaction is in the Red Bull camp at the moment. OOPS! We missed a trick.... or Great! Those two will cancel each other out and Seb will win again... We'll have to wait and see....

F1 » Raikkonen’s Ferrari return confirmed

It's really great to have "non-fanboy" comments for one day :-) Imagine if Ferrari and Merc (and even Lotus) delivered spectacular cars on a level with the Red Bull - and all those top drivers all swapped poles and race wins to the end next year?? There will be races of attrition, no quarter given, none expected! May the best man win! And I hope Mac can also join the party!

F1 » Alonso: It’ll be hard to say goodbye

Also Richard, you are implying that Ferrari's decision to make Alonso their number 1 had nothing to do with his performances. That they were so poor that they needed Santander's money and allowed Santander to come in and dictate to them what to do. Ferrari have had a number 1 policy for years, so stop implying that it only happened when Alonso got there! According to your theory, they might just as well have accepted Maldonado or Petrov's money and made either of them their number 1....

F1 » Alonso: It’ll be hard to say goodbye

Quote Richard: ...on his day, flip is everybit as FAST as ferdi! -- Well, those "days" are too few and far between and they have always been! He is not consistent enough. Do you understand? Ferrari have finally had enough. Quote: He was the equal or better than Kimi several years ago too. -- Well, Kimi won a title for Ferrari and he didnt. Quote: ....flip was the clear number 2 because Santander paid megabucks to get ferdi into the clear number 1 seat. but has he delivered? NO. when Ferrari gave the preference to flip, he delivered. -- Not an entirely accurate summation. Fernando has not won the title, but neither has Felipe. We both know that Fernando has "delivered" to the absolute limits of the Ferrari car he has been given, if not more! And the team principals agree with me. Felipe has not won the title, nor delivered to the limits of the car - and he has usually gone backwards in races and not scored many valuable WCC points for the team. Yet despite all these facts, you

Why can people not clearly say what they mean on this forum?? Rob and Richard, are you saying Felipe is a better driver than Fernando? If so, why not just come out and say so! You should then ask yourselves WHY Ferrari decided to make Felipe the number 2 and test the parts. Felipe had been there for years, before Fernando arrived! Did they just like Fernando's face better?? As we have seen for years now, Ferrari do NOT operate on sentiment in that way. They make decisions based on performance and results - and for such experienced followers of F1, you sometimes make the most surprising of comments. Fernando does not make all the decisions you are criticising him for, no matter how much he wants Felipe in the team. And Ferrari have never hidden their 1-2 policy, unlike other hypocritical teams (e.g. Ron Dennis and his love of Hakkinen or Lewis, and Horner/Marko and their love of Vettel).
