F1 » Raikkonen: ‘Everything seems to be against us’

Pt. 2. Kimi asked who made the call and has lost a practice every race since.A gearbox in Monaco cost him his Friday afternoon practice, a bad power unit in Montreal cost him his first practice. If you can’t practice you can’t get your set-up right. One wonders why FA doesn’t have any glitches taking away his practices? Is it fixed so that Kimi cannot race FA? PeopIe were looking forward to seeing a Kimi and FA team battle & are disappointed that there isn’t one.Yes, there is.You just can’t see it because the machinations are all being done below what we can obviously see.I believe that for all Kimi has had thrown at him this year he is doing GREAT!:)

F1 » Raikkonen expects to retire after 2015

On the other hand. Ferrari hired him to run as 2nd driver to FA, bcuz of Santander money, $100 m a year, and bcuz Kimi passed FA in a Lotus last July. How can Kimi stand & race against that $100m? When Ferrari ran him as their first driver in 2007 he won the WDC, Ferrari's last. In 2008 they switched to Massa & again in 2009, until Massa’s accident. Ferrari then reverted to Kimi as their first driver & in the infamous F60 he won the only race for Ferrari at Spa & got another podium in Monza & that with no new bits for the car after July. The engineers asked him why he didn't tell him what he needed, to which he replied, 'I did'. Makes me wonder what he could do if something happened to FA, to McLaren?, & Kimi was run as their first again? But Ferrari does not seem to be interested in winning unless it is FA. $100m will buy you that. I believe that Kimi is racing his heart out, that he loves F1, & that he is pragmatic enough to deal with reality. I also found it odd that w

F1 » Mattiacci set to restructure ‘angry’ Ferrari

At the rsk of showing all my ignorance at once, at Montreal Kimi lost his first practice to a bad power unit. What is a power engine...? Or is it the 'thingy' Yossarian is talking about. In Monaco he lost p2 to a bad gearbox. I am not sure of what that is in F1 either. Marco, I am here to help you. Just hire me & I will get the F1 team to winning. So what if I don't know what a power unit or gearbox are, picky picky picky, I can still get the team running smoothly. I ran a public library for 29 years. I will even do it as charity work, it will get me a gold star in Heaven.

F1 » Newey: Leaving Red Bull like walking out on your wife

Ferrari made Adrian Newey a great offer. If I were Newey, I would have taken a long hard look at Ferrari’s offer. It certainly looks too good to be refused. Then I would see that Ferrari is not letting Kimi race to win, only to stay behind FA. Adrian worked with Kimi at McLaren and he knows how good Kimi is. Then Adrian would understand that if FA did not win the WDC with Adrian’s aero design, that Ferrari would throw him under the bus rather than let Kimi win and show how good his design is. Luca would go on saying that Ferrari has to build a car good enough for FA. Adrian is too smart to throw away his career in that quagmire. Ferrari’s first concern is not winning.

F1 » Raikkonen: ‘Everything seems to be against us’

Kimi loses practice time on weekends... & his practice day in Barcelona, a gearbox I believe it was.In Bahrain Kimi & FA raced neck & neck all race and finished 9& 10.FA then tested Kimi’s car in Bahrain, which was suppose to have been Kimi’s practice days, & then Kimi’s car would not run during the first China practice. It would certainly take the wind out of your sails to not have time to work on your set-up.Kimi got all three practices in Barcelona & qualified in front of FA. It might have helped his confidence in the pit wall to be called in first when he was ahead in the race & if strategy is changed mid-race, that Kimi will be consulted on what he wants to do, also.
