F1 » Boullier defends cautious McLaren-Honda start

Why are 90% of fans and journalists eager to judge McLaren and Honda based on a poor winter test and 1 race. I think we should take a step back and remember Honda are effectively where the likes of Ferrari and Renault were last year before they fixed most of there issues and found decent performance. Lets face it Merc are the exception who found decent reliability and excellent performance from the get go. So lets give Honda at least 6 months to bring some decent performance and reliability before judging them and as for McLaren, they have proven to be able to turn things around before. Why wouldn't we believe they can't do it now? I honestly think people buy into the sensationalism journo's are feeding them. I'm not saying Mclaren are going to win any races this year, but I wouldn't be surprised if they are competing for podiums come the end of the year.

F1 » F1: Double points could ‘overshadow season’ – Wolff

superdowg316: Wouldn't it be funny if Nico pulled a Keke and won the title with less wins than his rivals? That would truly be a sight to behold. I'm starting to get a feeling that Nico is not wanted at Merc anymore. Toto and Niki never seem to say anything good about Nico since Belgium. Even when he gets pole it's always "It'll be different tomorrow." or "That won't stay for very long." Something tells me if it all goes pear shaped at and after Abu Dhabi we might see some shuffling between them. Maybe Merc push him to Williams and Massa out with compensation then Alonso comes in? Probably not, but I do feel Nico is getting Massa'd now.
Not so, Lauda was interviewed before the race and he said he thought Rosberg was on the up and looked good for the win. I think what we are seeing is the leaders of Mercedes trying their best to remain neutral, which is very hard to accomplish when F1 fans pick on the slightest twitch and make a big deal out of it. We've al

F1 » F1: McLaren confirms Michael departure

I think we put far too much emphasis on managers, you can have the people running a team and still fail miserably if you don't get the key engineers and designers and technical staff in place. Sam always seemed like a nice chap, I think he's probably been unlucky to be in the wrong teams at the wrong time, it's easy to look good when other people have done all the work for you, just ask Toto.

F1 » Kobayashi returns for Caterham F1 at Monza

I was reading, there was a limit to 4 drivers per team during a season? So in theory Caterham can't just keep on selling the seat for individual races. Anyway, if they're serious about adding performance to the car, they need their best driver to exploit and fine tune the updates. Once again though this is made harder by the fact he loses yet another practice session. Time is running out for KK, but I hope he can show us that fighting spirit once again and attract a better team.

F1 » Lotterer set to replace Kobayashi at Caterham

Obviously they haven't told Kobayashi who just 10h ago on twitter believed he was driving this weekend. Also this smacks in the face of what the team principle has said that the drivers are safe as long as they perform. I'm disappointed for Kobayashi if this is the case, he's been waiting for upgrades and they've given him nothing to work with this year despite clearly being the better driver.

F1 » F1 2014 driver salaries published – but who earns most?

Webbertron: Jesus, imagine the smile on Ricciardo's face when he is on similar money to Vettel. Only €750,000 and he's already won two races, I tell you what he's got some ammo for future contract negotiations. Overall I'm happy with the drivers salaries, i'd love to see all drivers earn something in the millions though!
I don't know if it's still the case, but they used to pay Webber and Vettel similar wages then they would get bonus' for wins etc. If that is still the case Ricciardo should have banked himself a nice reward at the end of the season, which is deserved imho.
