F1 » Hamilton recovers to win after Rosberg error

Since 1990, only three drivers have won the Italian Grand Prix and gone on to win the championship in the same year. I wonder if Lewis believes that fact to be a curse for him. As a Rosberg fan, I'm disappointed. He's lost some of his mojo due to the Spa incident and those two unforced errors didn't help either. He did what he had to do though so that's something to take out from this, but he'll be reeling until Singapore. Good work from Massa, although I believe had Bottas not mucked up the start he would've kept close and maybe even got between or in front of the Mercedes, since his race trim was a lot faster than Mercedes earlier. Fernando Alonso's patience must be wearing thin by now. All this time and no championships, but a lot of punching above his weight. If Allison's 2015 car isn't a masterpiece will he jump ship?

F1 » Smedley ‘would love’ to retain Massa/Bottas

The Silly Season has well and truly kicked off hasn't it? I really don't see Bottas moving from Williams any time soon or even at all. I kinda see him as a Schumacher or Hakkinen type driver, he won't quit or move until he has reached his goals, and Bottas' goal it to give Williams their first title in 17 years. Bottas however does play a part in what McLaren can do. If Bottas keeps outperforming the Ferrari's along with Massa, Williams will be 3rd and Ferrari 4th, opening Alonso's contract clause and maybe allowing him to negotiate with McLaren. However, I can't see him moving from Ferrari simply because McLaren is no better than Ferrari at the moment and it's run by Ron Dennis again, but the Honda engines will be a big lure. And what about Mercedes? Surely Rosberg and Hamilton won't be their lineup for next year. Since Rosberg has already committed and is the leader and most likely the champion, I believe Hamilton will move away from Mercedes early, but where to? Most likely McLar

F1 » Smedley ‘would love’ to retain Massa/Bottas

EdOz:
superdowg316: Hamilton is always comparing himself to Senna, as any successful F1 driver would compare himself to the greats. Senna is his hero, often known for driving the McLaren Honda. What better way to replicate his idol than to drive a McLaren Honda to a championship or more? Like it or not he would, depending on how the partnership goes, he could be remembered alongside his hero for being a great driver who took a McLaren Honda to championships.
Hmmm not sure who would remember him alongside Senna... Other than the color of the helmets I seriously can't see any similarities. Senna was clinically fast and dominating day in and day out. Hamilton, as talented as he is, still has A LOOOOT to show to deserve that comparison and driving the same car/engine combo to a championship is not really the missing link.
I agree. I was stating though that's probably the mentality that Hamilton would have.

EdOz:
Didn't quite understand the Senna reference there... are you saying he would choose to drive for McLaren because Senna used to drive for them using a Honda unit? Bit far fetched if that's the case.

F1 » Rosberg disciplined by Mercedes

champers: At least Rosbergs admission and apology proves who is right to comment on here...
Before you get on a high horse, he admitted to being wrong about trying to still overtake and not back off, not because he, and please read in a snarky voice 'conspired to somehow touch Hamilton with his front wing at the precise scientific angle and speed to cause a puncture and keep him in the race.' There's no way at 300kph he's going to make that calculation at wheel to wheel battle, and if he can/could, why is he in F1 and not making a hybrid V10 engine?

F1 » Hamilton ‘will always put the team first’

Wow, someone was offered more money to go to a team that could offer him a better chance of being successful...yeah I can see why he would be the only person ever in history to ever take that opportunity. No matter what profession you are in this happens, welcome to the real world my friend.
Really? At the time, I would believe you thought he was mad, going from a team which had 13 podiums between both Lewis and Jenson to a team where Nico and Michael only scored 3. Did that move end up being better than expected considering McLaren now? Yes. Did he HAVE to leave? No. Don't expect that every F1 driver leaves because of money. Sure, it helps, but most drivers leave to a more dominate team. Mercedes only offered more money. There was never any indication that their 2013 car was going to be b
