MotoGP » ‘Scared’ Lorenzo haunted by Assen injury

What a ridiculous comment someone made that Yamaha should get rid of Rossi for Aleix. Let's consider this a 7 time MotoGP/500 Champion Legend with millions of followers and tons of sponsors bending over backwards to get their name associated to his, plus he's currently #2 in the championhip and is almost always on the podium to be replaced by fairly fast kid with no championships. Also, Rossi in the last few races have reduced his gap to Marquez. If you worked for Yamaha and suggested such you'd be laughed out of the office then fired. Now if Yamaha couldn't come to financial grips with Jlo then getting one of the Espargaro brothers as a replacement could be understood.

MotoGP » ‘Scared’ Lorenzo haunted by Assen injury

I'm not a Lorenzo fan but I appreciate his honesty to admit fear as most wouldn't to avoid looking weak. It's obvious that Lorenzo is struggling. Some say it's due to Marquez's results which to a degree may be true but it's probably more due to lack of confidence. Rossi had to endure that lack of confidence when he was at Ducati due in part to his serious injury, loss of a friend and no confidence in the bike. While Lorenzo has issues I don't think he's lost talent or ability. As he regains his confidence he'll be back to challenge.

MotoGP » Assen MotoGP - Full Qualifying Results

Wow what bad luck. This is basically gifting the win to Marquez unless Pedrosa can give him run but unfortunately he's not tough enough to really challenge Marquez. As the soft tire guys fall back in the first couple of laps that will give the Honda boys clear sailing. Even if Rossi gets a good start being in 4th row isn't good. However if he has a good pace you never know but definitely has a very steep hill to climb. Dorna should really consider getting rid of this soft tire for the open class during qualifying. Because it's putting guys in or near the front that shouldn't be there.

MotoGP » Assen MotoGP - Free Practice (2) Results

Yes it's on a soft tire hence the pace but I don't think that tire lasts the length of a race. That's why you don't see these guys place higher than 6th or so. That aside the Espargaro bros are providing good reasons why factory teams should/might consider them as #2 riders. Suzuki should keep an eye on these guys and possibly even Yamaha if the can't come to grips with Jlo's demands. Just a thought

MotoGP » Rossi returns to scene of winning joy

Neal very good point about close but not equal. In watching all the races this year and watching Rossi and company get closer to Marquez. It's without a doubt the bike. But not dismiss Marquez as he's very talented and is able to exploit every bit of that bike. I'm sure that Rossi or Jlo on the same bike can do the same or very similar. I'll be even so bold to say that if either but especially Rossi on the same bike (and same level of support)would have at least beat Marquez one or more races by now.
