F1 » Massa: Williams outdeveloping F1 rivals

I have to say... after the first tests of this season I thought "Well, Williams seems to have built a decent car and lucked out on picking Mercedes as an engine supplier. Just hope they score lots of points early in the season 'cause come June they'll be dropping down the ladder fast!" Now, they didn't score as many points as they should have on the first half of the season but that's due to a heap of different factors other than car development.. So here I come to eat my hat and say GOOD JOB GUYS! I honestly didn't expect them to be performing so well this late in the season, here's hoping they keep this form come next year!

F1 » Exclusive Felipe Massa Q&A

I'd say that even if Martini leaves the team, Williams will be fine... they've been in a MUCH better situation than they have been for a lonnnng time. On top of that, they recently said that one of the advantages of their drivers is the ability of attracting partners (aka sponsorship). Brazil is F1's biggest audience in the world and Felipe is their only driver... plus it's not like Williams is a HRT trying to make it into the big league in the hope of one day being world champions. They've been there, done that. Multiple times in fact. And the kicker is, they will probably finish the manufacturers championship in 3rd this year which will provide them with a nice bump in the finances. So yeah, to say that a team like Williams might not be on the grid next year is ludicrous.
