F1 » Webber confirms Porsche sportscar move

Biggerthinking1 - racing in general is a rich man's sport or having financial backing. Even lower classes cost a lot of money. Webber will never be considered a great, but he is a very good driver. In general there is always a couple of dominate racers that will win the majority of races and then the next best racers will get a win or 2. I hope Webber has more success at Le Mans next year than he had with Mercedes. LMP1 will be interesting to see if Porsche can beat Audi and Toyota.

F1 » Red Bull, Ferrari to 'go private' rather that do Young Driver test?

All 10 other teams should be allowed to test tires for Pirelli and under the same conditions as Mercedes. That would be fair and then everyone would be on an even playing field. If they run 1000k on their own, the FIA are either going to look like a bigger joke or are they going to crack the whip. This should be interesting if it comes to fruition.

F1 » Button backs Hamilton pace

JimCrint - I read almost all the articles and posts and don't remember anyone calling LH the next Senna. Every driver will struggle to win without the best package. It's not like JB forgot how to race and can't ever win again. The McLaren is rubbish and JB/SP results show that. If the Redbull was equal to the McLaren in terms of pace SV wouldn't be winning either. It's all about the complete package Car/Driver/Pit stops.

F1 » Wolff: Hamilton 'surprised' by Rosberg pace

When people talk about developing a car, a driver can only give input if this feels better or not. The lap times tell if parts are good or not. For example if a driver says the rear is oversteering when the car enters a corner. Now its up to the engineers to solve this problem either with setup changes or new components. Too much credit is giving to drivers for their development skills. Put any top driver in a Caterham and the car will still be in the back. F1 is 90% car and 10% driver, but of course you need a top driver to extract the car's full potential.
