WRC » Ogier: I did not need to push too hard

Dafydd, you make a valid point but it appears here that the dominance and more specifically the personality of one, little Seb is being compared to his namesake from the not so distant past when It was pretty much Loeb Loeb Loeb Loeb Loeb Loeb Loeb Loeb Loeb Loeb or occasionally Loeb. I do recall it being suggested right here on this site that Loeb had no personality compared with someone, for example, like Solberg. Of course (we now know) that this was not true, that it was only our perception at the time. The respective dominance of each Frenchman (inadvertently) did little for the sport and both have had moments when they struggled to be humble as they annihilated the field. What HAS changed IS the playing field, which admittedly has softened up a bit, especially since "decades past".

WRC » Ogier: I did not need to push too hard

Dafydd, Again, you are quite right. To Taz's point, we see Ogier taking a slightly different approach to his comments. Is this tactical? Are little Seb's remarks meant to goad competitors into making careless mistakes? It would seem to make sense. After all, the title is his to lose. As similar to Loeb as Ogier appears to be, we know its only a matter of time before the younger drivers will match his pace and begin to win. I think Neuville would be there already if he had not signed on with Hyundai. Is the i20 upgrade going to be enough? Probably not. That leaves the Norwegians (and perhaps Evans, a bit further down the road). Mads just can't seem to find discipline. So, as much as I remain a huge fan of Neuville, that leaves Mikkelsen with the requisite combination of talent and car - so look for team orders for him soon!

WRC » Latvala to play catch up in Mexico

I would like to see Neuville battle (in this order) Ostberg, Mikklelsen or JML for the lead. Edit 18:02 MST That is to say, I would like to see Neuville battle for the lead. And I would most prefer to this battle to be with Mads. If not Mads, I would like see Mikkelsen show VW what they know he is capable of. Finally, I would not be at all disappointed if JML's new set up enables him to dominate.

WRC » Toyota announces WRC return

Toyotas new team should be very competitive, especially after 2 years of development. On that alone Toyota will look good, they shouldn't need to call back their glorious past. I however, will always remember the brilliant careers involved as well as the fire breathing Celicas and Corollas! With another manufacturer in the mix Dafydd is correct, driver contracts are revisited (his equations are most accurate). " Ogier / Latvala / Mikklessen / Neuville / Tanak / Evans"... But a lot could happen in two years - we could see new talent and Loeb may change his mind... Finally, will hybrids ever be approved by FIA?
