MotoGP » Yamaha wants Rossi to ‘stay to end of career’

Guna4699: Yamaha's racing department was against bringing Rossi back into the outfit in mid 2012 when Rossi was in Ducati sighting his age and ducati results as reason,, now yamaha's racing department will work to develop the bike around Rossi who is two years more older than how much he was in 2012... EPIC...
Beancounters 1, Engineers 0........... Sounds like most workplaces

MotoGP » Crutchlow: If we can alter my bike we’ll get results

zeitguist: yep...dead right...why would you want the c of g that high....never could see the point....is it turning thing?
Yes/No, it's a weight transfer thing. With the CG too low you can't load up the front wheel for turning onto the corner while braking and you can't load up the rear tyre to get on the power for exit. Like everything though, CG too high isn't good either. Honda tried a low CG years ago (mid 80's??) when they put the fuel tank under their race bike and it didn't work well.

MotoGP » Rossi talks wrong tyre choice - Lorenzo, Marquez risks

I'm not seeing the Honda as a stable package. To my eye it's not settled in the corners as the lean angle seems to be constantly changing. A slo-mo at Assen showed the front suspension compressing and extending at midcorner and not in a high speed chatter way but a much lower frequency bouncy way. The Yamaha seems to drop down to it's 60deg and lock into that while the Honda seems a bit wobbly. Might be why the Honda can alter it's line a bit mid corvner better where the Yamaha locks the rider into the line it's on for good or bad..
