F1 » Mercedes 'gained advantage' from Pirelli test

Mercs were found guilty by the tribunal for for breaking the regs under article 22.1 and 151. However the tribunal deemed there was mitigating circumstances regards article 22.1 that the running of the 2013 car was illegal but mercedes got the green light from Whiting and their legal adviser Seb Bernard who are part of the FIA to to run the current WO4 with the two drivers LH and NR and even more important is there is no stipulation in what car can be run in the contract between Pirelli and the FIA so any car can be run under a Pirelli test. Ross Brawn just exposed the loophole in the FIA regs which they will now look to close.

F1 » Ferrari: Mercedes got away 'virtually scot free'

107SS2009, bit harsh on Charlie the non FIA operative lol, as he did seek confirmation from the FIA legal department in Sebastian Bernard who advised whiting that a 2013 could be run if it was a Pirelli test under article 22 It states that 'Track testing shall be considered any track running time not part of an Event undertaken by a competitor entered in the Championship, using cars which conform substantially with the current Formula One Technical Regulations in addition to those from the previous or subsequent year.' Note well the words UNDERTAKEN and COMPETITOR

F1 » Mercedes and Pirelli get reprimands for 'secret' tyre test

Great result! Ross Brawn is the daddy once two FIA employees agreed that this was a Pirelli test and not a competitor's test the issue around the 2013 car went out of the window . The FIA needs to get their house in order so all of their employees are singing from the same hymn sheet. And i must agree with Horner regards clarity which the FIA has failed to deliver. Now Nico and Lewis go kick butt on Sunday.

F1 » Mercedes: We didn't test - Pirelli did

Kiwibob, even Whiting and an FIA legal personal said it could be seen as a Pirelli test which is the route that Brawn went down so i can see why Mercedes are accusing the FIA for double standards. If the operatives of a governing body relays information to a team which that governing body does not agree with then that governing body in this case the FIA must look at themselves and their staff.

F1 » Hamilton: Time is slipping away

@ Ptolemy Newey is the only designer to win championships with three different constructor which has happened over decades. He has also done the bizz in the states in Indy Car in 84 when he debut winning the Indy 500 and 7 races in his first season with his designs he then went on to get the tittles in 85-86 so not only has he been the best in f1 with different teams at different era's his designs have won races across the Atlantic. So to answer your question he really is that good and if not for him and his team pushing his designed cars throughout a season Alonso more than likely would have added at least another 2 tittles to add to the two he has already.
