F1 » Promoters will walk away over sound ‘disgrace’

Increasing the sound will be rather impossible with the current rules. The turbo acts as a rather effective muffler and it just can't be scrapped. These engines apparently don't have wastegates. It would seem that the MGU-H would apply a load to slow down the turbo in order to regulate boost pressure and a byproduct would be electrical generation. Dual exhaust would mean TWO turbos would be necessary and probably two MGU-Ks. Two small turbo exhaust pipes would probably be similar in sound to the one big one they're using today. We need to go back to simple internal combustion engines in F1. But the money wasted on these new engines would make the FIA look like the idiots they are. So, it "ain't" gonna happen.
