F1 » FIA considering Honda engine concessions

Fullofit: Really? So you decide tomorrow that in 2016 you'll be driving overland from Cairo to Cape Town, and you leave on Jan 1 2016. I decide in October that sounds like a fun trip, but I wont be ready to leave at the same time as you, so I'll do the trip starting 1 Jan 2017 rather. According to you we'll get there at the same time because I've had longer to plan my trip? No wisdom here.
So the OP sets out on his trip, his car breaks down due to inadequate cooling, uses too much fuel because of the RedBoar fuel flow meter, then he gets detained at a border crossing because he doesn't have the right homologation papers and finally he's kidnapped by members of the Feral Idiots in Africa terrorist organisation. You, having observed and learned from these pitfalls, set off a year later with modified cooling & fuel systems, correct papers, and carrying a few million in cash for bribes for the Feral Idiots. You might even arrive first.

F1 » F1 Driver of the Year 2014: 1st

Thewayitis: I truly believe this award is not merited! If Ricciardo had been constantly in the reckoning yes, but he had a fleeting few races in which he inherited wins rather than making them. If we had to go by this flawed process Bottas, Alonso, and Kvyat, surely are more deserving. Hamilton for me....
If you want a measure of the best driver+car+team it's called the WDC and Hamilton won it! "This award" attempts to take out some of the car/team factors and focus on the driver - and guess what, according to Crash.net readers Dan deservedly won it. Bottas, Alonso etc had their chances when the Mercs fell over but Dan outdrove them all at the critical point. And he comprehensively out-raced, out-scored AND out-qualified his team mate, which Hamilton did not. So yes, Driver of the Year for me - hoping he can go on to win the official crown as well next time.

F1 » F1: Red Bull excluded from qualifying

Greg Campbell1: I have a real hard time believing the rumor that this widget was mounted on a leaf spring. That's crude and obvious, and sounds like amateur hour-engineering, which RB does not (need to) do.
It sounds like it might be a part of the mechanism used to manually adjust the upper flap of the front wing. Presumably a spring loaded tensioner which could allow the flap to deflect under aero loads, reducing drag. Clever but naughty.
