F1 » Alonso doesn’t expect to sit out 2015 F1 season

Brian Gaddis: I just have to throw this out there because I haven't seen it anywhere else - What are the chances Alonso could leave F1, like his pal Mark Webber, and spearhead a Ferrari Le Mans project? Think about it: the "two or three month" timeline Alonso talked about would be somehwat correct, Luca suggested a Ferrari Prototype was possible, and Alonso showed a special interest in this year's 24. Just a thought...
Well, I threw it out there about 4 hours before you did (see above) - for much the same reasons. There have been some rumours and perhaps fanciful renderings of a Ferrari LMP1 car floating about... would fit with his "best for Ferrari" comments... maybe come back to F1 in 2016, but perhaps to a sorted Mac/Honda... Fun to think about anyway

F1 » Smedley: Closed F1 cockpits ‘very easy to implement’

Suzuka 1994: Wet track, Morbidelli goes off, marshalls and a tractor attend the scene. Brundle hits a puddle and runs off at the same place, just misses the tractor but hits a marshall breaking his leg. 20 years later almost the same incident repeats, with a more severe outcome. Something is wrong! Closed cockpit is irrelevant - it would not have helped Bianchi, nor would it have helped any marshall now or in 1994. I do not think it appropriate to have cars travelling at race speeds while the track safety features are compromised, in this case having a 5 ton tractor in front of the tyre wall. Particularly on a wet track.

F1 » Ricciardo ‘sure’ other teams are watching

Any rival team principals would have to fight their way past Horner, Marko, probably Mateschitz and a squad of security guards to get to Daniel at the moment. No doubt there is a nice pay rise on way and there aren't many incentives to move anyway - Dan seems comfortable in the team, good relationship with Seb and the car is pretty competitive despite the troubled start with Renault.

F1 » Hamilton cost Rosberg win chance – Wolff

Those suggesting Toto should STFU might want to read what he actually said rather than just the headline. “We don't know whether Nico was quick enough to pull the gap to win the race. ... If Lewis had let Nico go, Nico could have won the race." -- Not "would have" And this: "I could have gone on the radio or Paddy could but we didn't. ... we cannot ask either driver to give up positions or jeopardise their own championship chances for the benefit of the team.” So just who issued those so-called team orders? Seems Merc need a strong leader on the pit wall, I wonder who they could find? For the record Lewis was absolutely right. If Nico wants to win then he should shut up and drive.
