F1 » Key F1 changes in 2015

Gday @Thunder even though i agree with some of your comments mate, IE the noses and testing only in Europe. I did a little reading and was interested to find this Previously, we would re-optimise gear ratios every weekend. The new PU has a wide range of workable engine speeds, which means that ratio choice is nothing like as critical as it was in the past. But the more difficult part is making the physical ratios last for six races instead of one - and indeed making the whole gearbox system last for six races, compared to five last year. hope its a good season this year

F1 » Hamilton takes second F1 title with Abu Dhabi win

Braap: I'm a bike racing fan so was just watching to get a racing fix. Man, is that what you F1 fans have to put up with? With bikes we add the magic ingredient of racing, if there's someone ahead of you, the only way you're going to get in front of them is by overtaking. I switched over after 30 dull laps and needless to say the announced result was pretty much as it stood then (pretty much as it stood on the first lap for that matter).
@Braap sorry mate but your a peanut.. i like a lot of people here are a motorsport fan including Motogp, superbness, Ama motocross isle of man.. how can you say that after motogp has 3 classes in one race,, motogp has been a farce this year, was great to se Rossi back in form however really three different classes in one race.. if you don't understand F1 don't comment

F1 » Mercedes set to make F1 engine freeze compromise

Thanks Richard! i didnt actually know that it was the PU, that was the issue i just thought it was the engine..(my mistake) however i still think that Merc got it right and the others not so right..... how does the engines freeze stop the other teams from splitting there turbos next year? is it a 5 year freeze? also please don't think..Sunny and yourself that i was attacking you if people don't have opinions the world would be stale!! and i like to learn and will admit when i am wrong...

richard: spmatty. it is not the actual engine where merc have interpreted the rules differently. it is the overall pu. merc (or rather hpe) decided to split the turbo so that the input side was at the front of the engine in cooler air, and driven by a shaft running from rear of engine. on a turbo, the cooler the air , the more power. fia did not anticipate that, believing that the turbo would be a self contained unit. to use this system would need a major design of the entire

F1 » Mercedes set to make F1 engine freeze compromise

Cheers Sunny, as i said obvisouly your intelligent and have a wealth of knowledge i was only asking as to help me understand when i am wrong as it happens pretty often..

107SS2009: Smpmatty, My CRASHNET pen name 107SS2009, my name Sunny Stivala mechanical & electrical engineer retired, a follower of formula one and the motor sports in general, a model engineer as a hobby. As to Richard I have a fairly accurate idea as to who he is, but regarding his CRASHNET contributions one of the best long standing and well informed posters. As to you and who you are do not bother telling me, no interest from my side about that.

F1 » Mercedes set to make F1 engine freeze compromise

I'm amazed sometimes when i read stuff here.. who are you 107s?? and richard? come on guys tell us what actual experience you have.. i do think you are intelligent people and obviously have a great amount of knowledge, but really??i think your dislike for Merc shows through.. can you tell me how much money Ferrari get from one of the biggest sponsors? can you tell me how merc built there new engine? in f1 there is always a dominant team always... last year the start the the season was and is the only time 7 different winners for the first 7 races.... and explain how making new revised engines mid season does not cost more money? how does this reduce costs? again personally i don't have any racing at a high level ......
