F1 » Red Bull pushing for ‘first-class’ engine in critical talks

F1 engine suppliers always have a works team and customer teams. Ferrari will only supply a customer engine as it always has done. And why not, look at Singapore, ferrari are not spending all this to get beaten by another team running the same spec engine. The problem is not ferrari's , it is the sports for having so little choice in engines. The big query though is can RBR really pull out. It wasnt long ago they signed a contract with Bernie with Merc, Ferrari and McLaren to be in the sport until 2020 so as to get the big money back from FOM to turn up. So, to breach that contract will I guess cost them hundreds of millions... Caught between a rock and a hard place are we RBR ????

F1 » Force India, Sauber lodge EU complaint over F1 governance

They obviously couldnt sort this with Bernie / CVC so despite Bernie saying its what he would do, its no drama etc , he will be fuming as by any standards this is a rebellion to take it to the EU as Bernie knows this is not in the sports , or CVC's interests. Its a huge deal for them to effectively drag F1 into the EU spotlight. Makes any sale by CVC tough as well... F1 again demonstrating its lack of effective governance

F1 » Late payments leave Lotus out in the rain

why would Renault buy them now ? Caterham didnt get a buyer after all , so sadly its apparent now that it might well be significantly cheaper for Renault to buy the team cheap off the administrators... Maybe the sale would of gone through by now if Bernie / CVC werent so greedy and offered Renault the * historic * status it requested giving it valuable income streams...F1 doesnt need more teams going under. CVC should assist as otherwise who will buy their sport which is proving non sustainable to all but a small handful of teams. All very odd.

F1 » Boullier seeks reliability cure for McLaren

Eric , you are clearly now wallowing in la la land but i hope you find it a lovely place to dream about imminent success and get excited over a downhill start. Gosh, i just cant wait. Meanwhile, I will remain in Singapore having been tortured enough by the appalling noise the Honda PU makes on top of it producing seemingly no power. It sounds the worst PU there and its gutless, but no matter Eric, Honda said they are on top of it all and need no outside interference or assistance from anyone not in already in their disastrous racing engine facility. Best you stay in la la land Eric. Enjoy your dreams

F1 » Button poised to announce F1 exit in Japan?

F1 will be the poorer for JB's exit either at the end of this season or whenever it comes. He has been an extraordinary Ambassador for the sport since his arrival offering a stylish and intelligent persona amongst the standard F1 driver prima donna's. I for one will greatly miss him and hope he goes and wins the WEC / Le Mans / Indy or whatever else he wants to do, then maybe comes back and runs FOM. Now there's a nice thought !..
