WSBK » Pegram: Canepa at EBR is going to be a big help

Yossarian:
SuperSick58: The bike is a slug and won't do much at all. Half of the 600 class will record faster times than this bike....
Is that what you think or just hope for and could you not lose the offensive K in your nickname ?
Its what I know. Look at the times from 2014 for the EBR and for the 600 class and you'll see what I mean. I have watched EBR's race in the American series and even as modified as they were the 600's still beat the bike..... I tried to lose the K but my screen name without the K was not available......

WSBK » Pegram: Canepa at EBR is going to be a big help

cfsteezy: Again people commenting on crash.net think they can out engineer the guys at EBR... and btw, engineers from all over the world are working on this project... not just americans... the main development isnt even in the US...
Isn't this section for commenting/expressing ones opinion? I don't recall ever saying that I could out engineer anybody or the guys at Buell.....but if this is the best that Buell's engineers have to offer, If I were Erik Buell I would look for better engineers....just my humble opinion.

WSBK » Pegram: Canepa at EBR is going to be a big help

1MoreRound:
Doesn't mean the guys on the Japanese bikes were good riders too...
I'm no slouch. So don't be so quick to jump to conclusions... Unless you give a Buell a spin you shouldn't judge so fiercely.
I don't recall stating you were a slouch. I do recall responding to your comment that a Buell beat some Japanese sportbikes....... I have no desire to ride a Buell because they are under performing bikes and when I see people seated atop the bike they tend to look like a monkey humping a football.....I think the seating position provides that illusion.

WSBK » Pegram: Canepa at EBR is going to be a big help

kirk66: Larry is a good rider, better than average development man and an excellent team manager. He will take the team from last to the middle of the pack this season with Canepa's help. It will not be a huge victory to take a last place team and advance them forward but it will make Erik and Hero happy to see the bikes earn points vs last season. We are all realists here and know that the bikes are down on power. Small gains will be seen, but riding the bike harder than they were pushed last year by May and Yates will be apparent from the very first race.
Thanks for solidifying my point. These bikes are way down on power and developed to the max at this point. I have not seen anything indicating that these bikes have had any major engine developments. All of the other mfr's have done things to increase their performance yet EBR has done nothing. That is why I maintain that they will do nothing this year and 1/2 the 600 class will record faster times.

WSBK » Pegram: Canepa at EBR is going to be a big help

1MoreRound:
Robert Danley: First thing they need to do is get rid of all of the weird "we're different for the sake of being different" technology. The rim mounted brake and the fuel in the frame. Those are ideas from the past and they haven't been incorporated in real race bikes for a reason. They don't give an advantage and hurt the performance.
Have you ever rode one? The bikes handle well, everything does as it should. One of the fastest guys I've ever met (backroad riding) had a Buell Ulysses... hanging with and beating Japanese supersports through the curves all day. The motor is the issue, this I will not dispute. It's not holding up to SBK racing and has had issue in the AMA as well. The rest of the package is competent. Taking the lap record at Jennings was not done just wobbling around...
Doesn't mean the guys on the Japanese bikes were good riders too...

WSBK » Canepa tests EBR: The bike is lovely

RDix: We'll see the true potential of the EBR this year. The new rules will bring it closer to the front engine wise and Canepa is a serious rider who I'm a bit shocked EBR was able to sign. Pegram is better than he gets credit for although he's a bit past his prime. The world stage may bring out the best in Pegram though. I think they'll both crack the top ten a few times and Canepa may do even better than that.
...crack the top ten....keep dreaming. This bike is down on power. The only way they could run in the top ten would be to outsource a motor from one of the Japanese big four. Even on this bikes best day with Canepa riding it they'll be lucky to finish 15th.
