MotoGP » MotoGP Race Director explains Rossi punishment

Watch the race not the incident, it tells a different story. Marq saw when Lorenzo overtook Rossi, he let Lorenzo by and then decided to battle hard with Rossi to slow them both down. When Rossi overtook he picked up the pace, when he overtook Rossi he suddenly slowed down... They were bashing and battling for quite a few laps and Rossi had enough and decided to run Marq wide. To me it proves Marq is helping Lorenzo.

MotoGP » Rossi: I did not kick Marquez off

It's clear from the footage, Marquez hit Rossi's leg and Rossi just gave it a little flick, not a kick and not enough to push someone off, they always do much worse contact. However Rossi ran Marquez wide and Marquez had to turn in on Rossi, so Rossi caused that crash But tbh Marquez was asking for it, he made Rossi crack because he was trying to slow him down to help Lorenzo. The blame does ultimately lay with Rossi though, what he did was against the rules, I do think they need to have a chat with Marquez and tell him to race his own race.

MotoGP » Lorenzo: Rossi let off because of his name

While I agree Rossi run him wide on purpose, he even said that because he wanted to slow him down and make a gap. I do think Marquez was asking for it because it is so obvious what he was doing, for whatever reason he wants Lorenzo to win the Championship. Where Rossi was stupid was reacting to it, now he has destroyed any chance he had of winning the Championship. He has to basically hope he can get 4th and Lorenzo finishes in third... In Valencia that ain't gonna happen. Should Rossi have gotten a penalty? Yes, but if you watch the race they were battling hard and making contact a lot, Marquez was doing it on purpose and the end result was probably inevitable.
