MotoGP » Rossi: Marquez made a mistake

I am getting really excited about Valentino's potential for the championship this season. His racecraft is so good and he knows exactly how to come out on top in a one on one battle with another rider. Even when he was struggling in 2013, there were plenty of times towards the ends of races where he was battling other riders and I think he nearly always came out on top. Marquez looked rattled yesterday. It was an impetuous and potentially dangerous move. Both of them could have crashed. There was signs of it last season as well, the fall in Misano chasing Valentino and then crashing in Phillip Island. Yesterday his tyres were gone, he should have just accepted Rossi was better on the day. With respect, Rossi in a one on one battle is a different kettle of fish to Lorenzo or Pedrosa, whose strengths (when on form) traditionally lie in the consistency of the laptime that they can produce. Rossi certainly won't be bullied by Marquez, he's seen it all before.

MotoGP » Lorenzo: Fourth best I could do under circumstances

Jorge is a warrior. I have no doubt if he says he is sick, then he is sick. And and of course it will affect his performance, this is the elite level where small margins in performance make a difference. To anyone questioning Lorenzo's bottle and bravery, this is guy who don't forget raced with two broken ankles back in 2008, where he had to be physically lifted on and off the bike as he couldn't do it himself. He then went and finished 2nd. I still remember Assen 2013 which was one of the grittiest performances I've ever seen from a rider. A collarbone snapped in two on a track as physical and with as many direction changes as Assen, and he still came home 5th. He was literally in tears at the end of the race because he was in so much agony when the painkillers had worn off. He has a history of riding injured, enough so that I believe him when he talks about things affecting his performance.

MotoGP » Rossi, Lorenzo respond to Suzuka rumours

I am glad to see the mutual respect between these two guys. Both great champions. As I remember most of the bad blood last time out between these two last time came from Rossi's side. I love the man but he was kind of immature with the way he behaved towards Jorge before he went to Ducati. But then at the same time it can't have been nice to have the young up and comer shake things up a bit, within the same team no least and knock him from the top spot.

F1 » Raikkonen bemoans own driving despite pace

@LoveF1 I will comment in exactly the way that I want, if you don't like it, tough. I am not being offensive or insulting anyone, in fact you are the one talking down to people. You also seem to be raising irrelevant points that I have not addressed in any way, why do you have the idea from what I have written that I am expecting people to respond to me? Anyway, I said what I wanted to say.

F1 » Raikkonen bemoans own driving despite pace

It is a horrible cliche and I have only ever really heard people say it about Raikkonen. I didn't hear anyone say Vettel lost motivation last season. People mistake the fact he doesn't talk much or like speaking to the media for lack of interest or motivation because they don't know how to deal with him. It is lazy journalism by the media, and some people fall for it as you appear to have done. I will say it again, if Kimi really was not motivated to improve and win he would not be there. Being upset because things don't go your way doesn't mean that you will stop trying your hardest to do your best for the team. These guys are professionals, and are better than that.

F1 » Raikkonen bemoans own driving despite pace

I know Kimi himself is sick of the claims of 'lack of motivation' thrown at him, and I am tired of this lazy accusation as well. It is simply because of his demeanour. Was Vettel unmotivated last season, when Ricciardo beat him? Was Hamilton unmotivated when Button beat him in 2011? Its a complete cliche. Its ridiculous. If he wasn't motivated, he would not be there. He is a multi-millionaire, he doesn't need the money. Kimi has quite a specific driving style, and if the car isn't there, particularly if it has a weak front end like the Ferrari did all of last season then he can struggle.

MotoGP » Ten to one for undefeated Marquez at Le Mans

Great stuff from Rossi, its amazing he's still doing it at 35 years of age. However Marquez is just in a league of his own at the moment. People mentioning that the margin of victory was quite small seem to be conveniently forgetting that Marquez got caught up in the pack at the start and presumably had to use more tyres than Vale to work his way back to the front. And even then he was still quicker and able to pull away. Rossi is doing well no doubt, especially compared to Lorenzo and Pedrosa but circumstances today flattered how close he is, if Marquez had got a good start he would have been a lot further down the road at the end.
